VIDEO: Meet Dr. Bachmann. He loves his wife. He is not gay.

I've written about Marcus the PhD before, but now we have video!

Oh, and he's not gay. He loves his wife. "Some say" he can cure The Gay right out of his patients, in fact.

But some observers claim that the mission of the practice includes counseling homosexuals in an effort to "ungay" them. "It is absolutely sincere," adds former school board member Cecconi. "They specialize in 'reparation' regarding sexual orientation."

Marcus Bachmann, who is also 50, denies that is part of his clinic's practice. "That's a false statement," he says, refusing to answer any questions that don't have to do with Bachmann and Associates. "Am I aware that the perception is out there? I can't comment on that." Still, Bachmann offers, "If someone is interested in talking to us about their homosexuality, we are open to talking about that. But if someone comes in a homosexual and they want to stay homosexual, I don't have a problem with that."

And with that, meet Marcus (h/t: Wonkette):

  • John

Yeah, I was an "effeminate" Christian too until I realized there was nothing wrong with homosexuality - now I'm bisexual. He's very clearly in denial.

  • In_Fiction

He is gay,'s a ridiculous argument.

  • Robwolk

phony, folsky, church supper closet case..... i can sniff it a mile away...

  • Rf7

[S]he is not even licensed to practice anything in the state of Minnesota.

  • Mem

    Effeminate, yes.  Doesn't prove he's a homosexual.

  • Nicky

Dude makes Liberace look like Charlton Heston!

  • Only Logic

Marcus Bachmann is NOT gay.  He's not, not, not!!!  Why do people have to be so mean?  Why, he's no more gay than Harvey Fierstein, Liberace, Paul Lynde, Rock Hudson, Tom Cruise, Larry Craig, Barney Frank, David Sedaris, or Boy George.  These are manly men, ya know.  I hope this puts the questions of Marcus' sexual orientation to rest once and for all.

I understand they are members of WELS, the Wisconson Lutheran synod that This is from the WELS website:

Question: How much of a relationship as a parent of an adult homosexual child do you maintain with your child and friend? We do not what [sic] them to think we condone this homosexual relationship, but we still love the child and feel he needs our Christian influence. We also do not want our young grandchildren to think this is okay.

Answer: You have my sympathy as you strive to maintain relationships with your homosexual child and friend. I am thankful that you DO desire to maintain a relationship since that will allow you opportunity to give suitable witness to your convictions and to demonstrate parental kindness despite the spiritual plight of your loved one. I recognize that your doing this will necessarily involve awkwardness, often leave you in situations where you will be unsure of how best to conduct yourself in Christian love, and periodically arouse anger and resentment in your child and partner because of their impenitent lifestyle. And you will grieve over the inaccurate and flawed example that will be set before your grandchildren on a daily basis. You have a daily petition in your prayer life until repentance is shown.
