The tea party’s paltry turnout

In my previous post, I was not kind to the L.A. Times for shoving coverage of the enormous day of union protests to page 20. However, their article does have a nugget in it that also deserves more attention:

Tea Party groups organized counter protests in some cities, including Jefferson City, Mo., and Raleigh, N.C. In Madison, however, only a handful of scattered counter-protesters showed up.

I’m surprised the media didn’t give those few “scattered” tea baggers 24/7 coverage while ignoring the huge crowds of pro-unioners.  So out of character.

Maybe the light is dawning. Maybe they realize they were used to get the GOP into power, and now they are seeing the rotten apples they helped elect. How many of the tea bag people are also union, or have spouses, parents, kids who are? If these are truly middle class folks, they have deep union roots. Looks like the Palinization of America has hit a big roadblock (at last!)

FYI, the photo is an old one, not from the recent protests.
