VIDEO: Ted Cruz fan thinks "Canada is not really foreign soil." Then neither is Mexico. Welcome in, amigos!

Our own Lucian (@lwdgrfx) spotted more right wing hypocrisy, stupidity, and even found some humor in this eye-popping post at Raw Story.

Birther Christina Katok, of course, an avid Ted Cruz fan, proves once again how so many of these right wing extremists are of very little, if any, brain.

As you probably know by now, Cruz recently released his Canadian birth certificate which proved that he was born in a foreign country (Canada) to an American mother.

But Katok doesn't seem to understand a few basics, as you can see in the video where you can watch her say the following at a Texas tea party rally:

As far as I’m concerned, Canada is not really foreign soil,” she explained, adding that she was more worried about the president’s “strong ties to Kenya.” She noted that Obama had not released his long-form birth certificate until after he was elected.

What if Canadians were brown people who didn't speak English, Birther Christina? Would you make the same claim, as far as you're concerned? What if President Obama's skin was as white as yours?

I'll dispense with further snarky commentary, because Lucian nailed it in two sentences. As he points out so astutely:

"If Canada 'is not really foreign soil' because they're our neighbors, then neither is Mexico. Therefore, we no longer need to worry about deporting Mexican citizens here without papers because hey, what's the problem - they're not foreigners!

Trying to maintain Ted Cruz is eligible for the presidency but President Obama is not? Priceless."

Great post, so many Chickenhawks among the strident right.

I now understand why the British band played, at the surrender at Yorktown, the tune "The World Turned Upside Down". Even back then they knew we would probably have Cruz's, Le May's, McCarthy's, Nixon"s and a whole host of "chickenhawks" who never served on active duty, yet wear the flag on their lapel as an indication that they are more patriotic than other Americans. As an example of what I mean I attended my grandson's Little League game and at the start the National Anthem is played. A man I know well and who never served in the Nam War though he was eligible at the time the draft was still in effect, stood up as all did and put his hand over his heart. Another man I did not know standing a short distance from us just stood there at ease with his hands by his side. The man I know commented to the man I did not know that it was customary and patriotic to remove your hat (the man I did not know was bare headed)), and place your hand over your heart. The man I did nopt know calmly responded, "I spent 3 tours in Nam, I don't have to prove to anyone my patriotism.

How talking heads could call Cruz smart puzzles me. He questioned Obama's birth abd yet thinks his birth on foreign soil is ok. If Cruz considers Hawaii foreign soil than the money spent on his Harvard education was poorly spent and the money wasted on his education should have gone to someone with a brain. His pro gun stand is opposed by the great preponderance of Americans. His antiabortion stand is also opposed by a great majority of Americans. His statement that he was elected to do the people's will is ludicrous when one crunches the numbers. The lies about antigunners wanting to take everyone's gun away is ridiculous. He feels no qualms about the NRA having a gun registry system, yet never mentions that. He wants less government interference in the personal life of Americans but favors laws preventing what one must consider the most personal decisions a family may have to make, abortion. I would just add this, those that oppose abortions do not have to have one!

This is all running on . . . NOTHING! Silly, negative points.

It's amazing how birthers can excuse everything for a foreign born Republican but a US born citiizen is a foreigner. This is typical fantasyland behavior. No wonder with Republicans up is down, right is left, good is bad, foreign is local, local is foreign, right is wrong and wrong is right and I could go on and on.

I love to see Ted Cruz run, run for the border, that is!

  • Law 'n order

Canadians probably don't agree. I suspect they think of the US as very foreign soil.

If she watched South Park, then she would have learned that Canada only has one road.

Cruz proves that the GOP is not sexist.

Palin is thick as shit and popular with the GOP.

Cruz is thick as shit and popular with the GOP.

Therefore the GOP is not sexist.

  • Cory James Hinman

Yay! Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm can run for president!

  • Sally

Good. That means we can stop the billions the GOP is happy to spend on a stupid fence, can't we? Cruz is evil. The GOP is brainwashed. The real danger to this nation and democracy is not coming from the left, unless we sit by and let the right turn us into a theocratic communist state...some of us are halfway there with our ALEC robot Governors!

  • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker

Cruz has a Canadian birth certificate therefore he's an immigrant and a naturalized US citizen. Boy I want this guy to run for president...... Run Ted Run!

Birther Christina Katok consumes valuable natural resources...resources which could be used to support more sentient life—my Beagle for example—why?

  • RepublicanSwine
