PhotOh! Blogger confuses closed captioning of Obama speech for applause prompt, scrubs critical comments

Here is the title of a blog post over at “Barracuda Brigade 2012″:  Applause Scripted at “Memorial.” Obama Lies to America.

Here is the photo they use as “proof”:

They go on to ask:

“Why was it printed on the Jumbotron ???”

Do they not get that the broadcast was closed captioned? Really?

To quote my Twitter pal BleuZ00m, who linked me:

And they call us ‘Twisters?? …  just gob-smacked.

Indeed.

More here.

Oh, it gets better. Now they’re deleting all the comments telling them it’s closed captioned.  I managed to screen grab a before and after, but only after they’d scrubbed a couple of comments:

I am a support Sarah but if you are wrong this could be used against Sarah. Please be careful.

Thought 4 the day: When is text on a photo a subtitle and when is it an instruction? Answer? Wait 4 the video & view in real time!

No need to post this on your blog but I had to comment on here as you don’t follow me back on Twitter.

Why do you remove comments that say it is captioning? Just saw the story on twitter of how this is being misconstrued by you & others.

Welcome to right wing world. Nobody ever said Palin groupies were bright.

I attempted to post this comment:

You are an unrepentant liar. You know it’s close captioning on the screen yet you refuse to take down the post or clarify.

You know that’s how close captioning works. They provide a literal transcript of what’s happening. If the audience booed, it would have said “[Boo]” on the screen; but the audience didn’t – they applauded.

But if figures conservatives would lie about this. That’s really all you have left, right?

Lying about a memorial service. That’s the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.

However, I couldn’t post the comment because comments are restricted to “team members.”

They have no comprehension skills, reading or listening. Good example beyond the CC is this duzy-

Only the Professor not only never claimed to be a Medicine Man he specifically said he was NOT one but had permission to do the Blessing. Won’t even get into those that are both Christians and Medicine men. (There are a few.)

I honestly don’t get it. Why not just close commenting if you don’t want people to call you out with facts. This is the third website I have seen addressing this and one rw site says its CC, the other two do not- but commenters do. If this was my blog I would have just deleted at this point or at least updated with an “oops”.
