Things President Obama has done: "He was elected President. He wasn't elected Jesus!"

UPDATE: President Obama’s Top 50 First Term Accomplishments

I contacted the person on Facebook who composed this list of President Obama's accomplishments and got permission to post it here at TPC. I can't vouch for the accuracy of each entry, but I do appreciate the amount of work that went into it, as well as the sentiment behind it.

The usual punditiots have spent so much time and energy attacking Obama's policies, but it goes without saying he has gotten a lot done in the short time he's been in office. It's nice that someone pointed that out.

There is room for disagreement on some of these (#5, for example, doesn't take into account that Obama still supports oil drilling, nuclear energy, and so-called "clean" coal; #18 isn't what I'd call a positive, but yes, he did do it), but overall, this is still quite an impressive list:

I'm sick and tired of people asking "What has Obama done?" So here's a list of things he's done since he's been in office. Remember: He was elected President. He wasn't elected Jesus!

The list is still growing. Let me know if I missed anything.

I'm guessing you meant  "dollars," "meet," and "Kenya." And thank you for proving that birthers are illiterate. Another baiting, ignorant comment like this and you'll be banned. Read our guidelines.

    97. Visited more countries and met with more world leaders than any president in his first six months in office.  Thanks for using tax dollers to go met with you family in Kenna

  • http://www.facebook.com/anthony.barefoot.7 Anthony Barefoot

Sorry cant leave this page alone   67. Announced creation of a Joint Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record for members of the U.S. Armed Forces to improve quality of medical care. He announced this, tthis has been in effect since i have been in service in 2003, so he just said it, now i am saying so give me credit for it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/anthony.barefoot.7 Anthony Barefoot

Okay this list is kind of stupid. Most of it is wrong like "81. Provided attractive tax write-offs for those who buy hybrid automobiles." becasue i have bought a hybrid and under the Bush admistation I would have got a tax wright off but 2010 was the last year i would have been elidgable.  Most of it is also a lie. Like the withdraw from Iraq, that was being done well befor Obama was in office. 89. The FDA is now regulating tobacco. Well that has been one for a long time since tobacco was been a drug for a long time. And aperatly he saved wall street, i'll just leave that one alone becasue you ignoarnt. And the last one i will talk about is " 108. HEALTH CARE REFORM" social medicine in free country, that good too you. I know that you have said you  just shared this from a friend but you should have though about it first. Obama is one of the worse things that was happpend to this country and dumb people have let him stay in becasue he has done one thing. Improved the life of those on welfare to above those on minmal wage, and made it easier to stay on welfare, with a free phone. (please dont message me about spelling and grammer, ill say it for you i am horrible at both, but awsome at everything eles)

Please stop getting your facts from Fox. Unemployment is not at record high...

    http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2012/11/02/bikini-graph-time-the-unemployment-rate-went-up-slightly-because-of-good-news-job-growth-improved/

... and food stamp info is based on Bush recession numbers. More people needed help and got it. Nice try though. Thank you for your time.

  • http://www.facebook.com/sabrielmisa Sabriel Misa

please look up your facts unemployment is at record high now and more Americans are on food stamps then ever the deficit also has almost doubled since he took office thank you for your time.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/QRSDEC4WEARLUVLY2WCNFOZYZQ Brian

I do have to agree though, that this list is quite repetitive and a bit generous.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/QRSDEC4WEARLUVLY2WCNFOZYZQ Brian

Shane, I may be a little late on the comment but he has had no choice in regards to Afghanistan. Since his predecessor already had our troops over there he can't just pull out even though we would like to because the country is weak and in turmoil right now. As soon as we would leave a warlord would take over and then we'd have to come back again at a later date. That's why we are training their army so they can protect themselves and we can leave. Iraq was further along so he was able to pull most of the troops out. Bush as commander and chief made some really sloppy, impulsive decisions and now we have to pay for it, like it or not. However, Obama has made it priority to set a clear exit strategy and enable these idiots to run their own country again so we can stop borrowing billions from China to fund a nonsensical, idiotic was.  When Obama came in a lot of people not familiar with the way things work thought he was going to magically change things but change in America is a slow, aggravating process especially when half of your colleagues are intent on your downfall. He has done a good job, not perfect, not excellent ,but good, competent. Now a more angry and extreme right wants to settle back in the White House. Romney has not given any specifics on an exit strategy but that he'd like to exit around the same time as the president's exit strategy but, like everything else, he can't give specific details. Its going to take years to bounce back from all the damage done in the first decade of the 21st Century. The president cannot be expected to change it all in one term.

  • Bruce Brightwell

    Vote Obama!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

Um, those government jobs? Pay attention: Over 600,000 of those have been cut under
Pres O, which is really stupid, IMHO. If they were added back in, unemployment would drop at least another point. He's added millions of private sector jobs.  Do a Google search under "Bikini Graph".

As for ending the war in Afghanistan, he has already pulled troops out and will continue to do that until they're all out by 2014.  He's kept that promise. Oh, and he ended the war in Iraq.

Have you read a paper in the past 4 years?

Ok I guess I need to jump in here, do you honestly think it was his decision alone to send more troops to Afghanistan ? No it wasn't and we all know now it is a bigger war then we ever dreamed it would be and if it would of been taken care of the first time around none of this would of bee necessary and there may not of been a 9/11 . I have 3 family members that have been there and one getting ready to go, and no I dont like it but if it is necessary for our country to be safe then it has to be done. Now you need to go back 8 years to when Busch became president to the time he left office and tell me that we are on an upclimb.

  • KatieSilverSpring

you should post wherever you wish about whatever you wish, John

  • Richard Selby Jr

So your saying Bush put America in debt all by himself?  This country has been in debt longer than I've been alive!  Your statement is completely ridiculous.  Since Obama has been in office he has surpassed Regan, Bush Sr., Bush Jr and Clinton.  Are you kidding or just obtuse?

  • Richard Selby Jr

I hear what your saying and I agree in part.  The only negative about remaining unaffiliated is you are assured your candidate will "never" win.  I would really like to see a candidate who's not swayed by big business, deep pockets and special interests.  As you know we have to pick the lesser of two evils and hope they do the right thing for our country.

  • Richard Selby Jr

Well if Obama gets re-elected in 2012 look at the mess he's going to inheirit.  I'm sure he'll blame Bush and the GOP for that too.  The unemployment rate is terrible to say the least so I'm not sure where your getting your numbers from?  The economy is at a stand still at best and by stand still I mean it's terrible as well.  Obama and his wife are on vacation or fundraising for his election in 2012 and have spent "millions" of taxpayers dollars for his "good pleasure".  This so called list of accomplishments is like the idiotic statement he made against business owners, He didn't do that some one else did that!

  • Laffingbuddha777

because of IDIOTS who commented here we saw whose ONLY news sources if FOX ( or FAUX ) news !!!! ahaha

  • Laffingbuddha777

HE DID END the WAR in IRAQ which was what he promised and HE IS withdrawing TROOPS from AFGANISTAN by the end of this year...........!!! Dun you read teh NEWS ???

  • Laffingbuddha777

    I agree 333 % !!! BRO !!! AMEN !!!

  • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

Well, no, he didn't. He always said he'd end the IRAQ war, but focus on Afghanistan: http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2008/07/obama_afghanist.html
As for those government jobs, over 600,000 of those have been cut under Pres O, which is really stupid, IMHO. But under Obama, private sector jobs have been added for over 25 months, about 4 million jobs:

You call these things good? This Muslim president of ours thinks it's a good idea to keep sending out troops away from their families, and overseas? It's a good thig that he has appointed a NON-AMERICAN as a judge in the AMERICAN supreme court? It's a good thing that he's trying to pass a healthcare law forcing Americans to purchase a service? This man is sending America on a one way express straight to hell.

  • adrnmrnda

seems to me that there are more a few that are mentioned or re-referred to three times, such as efforts in Afghanistan.  Just as in the case of many Presidents a majority of these policies and changes were conceptualized and initiated prior to his taking office, just as alot of our national difficulties were in place prior to his taking office.   In my opinion his supporters are giving him credit where it is not due and forgiving his lack of action and direction with the well worn statement "Bush did this, Bush started that"Improvements for military housing and benifits have been occuring since before 2005.  Focus on Afghanistan was prior to his taking office.  Whom ever created this list seems to  think President Obama is traveling the world sprinkling good nation fairy dust and every one is acting better for it, I personally  believe he is trying to emulate Clinton era international relations, nice try but no.
When President Obama took office my wife and I prayed he would have a direction and a plan for the nation,  they were spoken into the wind and carried off to be unrealized.  President Obama strikes me as a flag in the wind with no direction of its own, waiting on other forces to force it to move, stand out straight, or lay flat.  We are understanding about making mistakes that stem out of good intentions and a plan forward, he always seem to wait for an analysis of the political landscape and effect each decision will hold rather than making what he fells to be the best decision for the situation.  He is not playin gchess, he is leading a nation and should act accordingly

  • adrnmrnda

While his administration as accomplished a handfull of  positive items on this list, this list seems to me that there are more a few that are mentioned or re-referred to three times, such as efforts in Afghanistan.  Just as in the case of many Presidents a majority of these policies and changes were conceptualized and initiated prior to his taking office, just as alot of our national difficulties were in place prior to his taking office.

  • Javonta29574

Well i will start off by this by saying that Obama has been a great president and is doing all he can to make this country better but people is saying hes making it worst. If that's the case then why are more jobs being added and even I have a job now. Before Obama came into the office it was hard trying to find a job, but guess what I have a job now and thank God for that. Everyone need to realize that you can't look up to the president for everything and remember that we do have a mayor along with city council members, we have governors of the state along with their administration. So we can't blame the president for everything. If your going to blame anyone blame the mayor of your city or blame the governor of your state. Obama has done a lot for this country even though some was repeated but he has done a lot in three years in office and I believe that he will get a lot more done if he wins 2012. This country is a mess. It's time to stop being so hateful and start working together as one nation ya. Why do we continue to do and say evil things its time for all of this to end. Regardless of rather you like him or dislike him ar say good or bad comments hes still gone be our president. Your comments wont get him out the chair. But it's time we stop this if our kids see us doing these evil things to one another then they gone think it's ok and it's not. So I hope this helps someone along the way God bless america and
P.S Please excuse me from the comments I made earlier I was mad but it took one comment made by someone who said it's time we work together and that's what changed my heart so if I can change then you can change lets do it together and build american back to the way it was.

  • Javonta29574

How can you blame the president for your cancer. Its not his fault you have cancer so stop blaming him for it.

  • Javonta29574

Well he didn't start the dept and congress control the money but all the blame goes on the president. Why you think he has to stand before congress to get bills passed you dumb ass they control the money but ya too stupid to ever notice

  • Javonta29574

Well let me ask you this. who got the country in debt Bush did right so who fault is it Bush right. OK if the country is in debt then that tells you that the country is broke right so what other money do we have. Obama has no choice but to do what he does to make this country better. Ya fail to realize that President Obama didn't start this and that he walked into this mess hoping he can fix it fast but he has someone stopping him from doing what he got to do. Ya need to wake up and think that it takes money to make money.and I thought that the congress had the control over the money so how is it president Obama fault. He has no control over the money the congress do so ya think about that for me ok. I'm really starting to think that ya hate him because of the color of the skin. Ya need to put skin color aside and start thinking about how we can work together to get this country back on track. so think about it

  • Javonta29574

No this is not dumb you peace of shit. Obama has done a lot for this country. And for your information President Obama got to fix the mess that bush started and its going to take a while for this country to get back on track. Ya act like he can change everything in a short period of time. People saying that the economy hasn't gotten better. The economy has gotten better. Lots of jobs has been created and more people are back to work. The unemployment has went back down. You people just hate that fact that one person can't do everything. We elected mayors and governors for a reason and that reason is to help find jobs and much more. Everyone always look to the president to do everything but we fail to realize that we have a mayor to go to and also a governor to go to. So please stop blaming the president on everything and keep in mind that the economy has gotten better and that he is only one person.  This is a big ass country and it takes time for these things to spread across this big ass country so please keep these things in mind .

  • Wakeup

To bad most of it is is a crock. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice that most of it has backfired and did not produce anything positive for the american people. Nobel Peace Prize.... What a laugh!!! Most of what he did were gimmicks. Let's take a look at his real gems: NDAA, H.R 347, NDRP, and that's just in the first three months in2012. And while we're at it, let's take a gander at the new and improved Patriot Act, H.R. 645. He's taking all of our Freedoms away you fools. PAY ATTENTION!!!

  • angryhaitian

Uh  did you not read, see, or hear all about our first "black" president?

  • Gvalhh16

Many of these don't even make sense.. defense contracts have not changed since he took office, he cut defense funds ha.. many of these are negative accomplishments

  • S David

I disagree with the with the "sane" comment, but I do agree that it is too much for one person to handle.  There's never the perfect president, and only time will tell the lesser of multiple evils.

  • S. David

Biggest problem with Obama as the President in terms of the media: so many people elected him simply because of his ethnicity.  I would have rather seen people with political reason vote for him.  In the end it's not the white man or the black man, it's the right man.  That's more so personal nitpicking though, as I do realize that there were some very educated people who support him.

I'm not fond of any of the people he ran against, but I'm fond of him either.  Just like the upcoming election, there's not many good choices, if any.  He has done some good things, but so often we have found ourselves worried about small things, like "don't ask don't tell".  To me, it doesn't matter what your preference in a partner is, but behavior and actions in the military should never be influenced by it.  Don't ask don't tell should apply to heterosexuals as well.  For the economic aspect, Obama hasn't been the worst, but national dept isn't very fond of him.  Cuts to the military is hurting the forces as well.  I know stuff was said about body armor, but Lockheed Martin just took cuts so large that the F-22 project has ended.  To put it in simpler terms, the most advanced air to air combat machine in the world was just cut...  In modern warfare, air control is vital.  And as a student, he really hasn't done much to help my financial situation.  And for him to "inherit" all of this is a terrible excuse.  He may have got it, but he can't use that excuse his entire term.  And his hard work sure is complimented by a lot of vacations... Wish our troops had that luxury.  Simple question: How can someone with no military experience be the leader of the military?
And the "torture camp" residents are living better than many people in the states.  If it really bothers you, then go do something for the homeless.

In the end, I don't support him, but hey, he is better than some people.

  • Get a Clue

You don't even know "the other guy's" name so how do you know how we'd be with him?

Most listed on the above had little to do with Obama. The majority were bills introduced in Congress and passed by Congress and all Obama did was to put his signature on the bill making them law.

  • Darngrateful

I agree with the not Jesus part a lot. The expectation is way too high for any human much less one who was elected with one of the worst economic calamity since 1929. Has he done all I wanted? No. However, I am deeply grateful to the sane part of America for voting President Obama in rather than the other guy.  I fear that we would be far, far worse off than we are now if the other guy had won.

  • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

I've had to say this many times... read the opening of the post. And check the time stamp. We don't update older posts like these, and this post is a year old.

I agree, he has disappointed me bitterly at times, and made me proud other times. Nobody's perfect, and let's hope we can push him hard (via the Occupy Movement, for one) to accomplish even more.

  • Lorberfullsail

He just added to the Bush deficit. You cannot blame the deficit on Obama, but you can blame him for contributing to it.

  • ed-words

He wasn't elected Jesus. Whew, that's a relief!

  • Anonymous

Accepted: Obama is better (usually) than any  of the knuckledraggin' GOP. But is that really an accomplishment?

    1. yes, the huge unionized GM was forced to restructure but the criminal banks were expressly allowed to get bigger and more predatory without any strings attached to the trillions. Also, the W.H is actively subverting the minimal legal attempta at systematic mortgage fraud.

    2. Reducing terrorism?? The drone strikes that kill many civilians and numerous illegal wars are not reducing the risk of terrorism - they are terrorism

    3. See #2

    4. So now he gets credit for signing an order?? What about torture at Bagram?? Leading is more than signing.

    5. the environment, really?  Clean coal more nuculear, BP back in the gulf.

The list goes on and on.

The best argument for Obama is that the republicans are truly insane and that is no argument to be proud of.

Maybe this year it can be "hope and change... as long as it isn't too much, doesn't take to much work and doesn't upset the banksters, Boner or Mitch the bitch.

MR. President, please come to work and get busy.

  • Anonymous

GITMO is still open, the drone strikes killing innocents have expanded, he has claimed the right to murder anyone including US citizens and has done so, the wars continue, the tax cuts continue, health reform was a big wet kiss to the insurance industry, .................shit.

  • Zack

im sorry but our President has yet to impress me, this whole thing with the health care reform has got me pissed off.  He wants the american citizens to spend our hard earned money for lazy, sorry, worthless people who are taking advantage of the system and us americans who are actually trying to make it without breaking it.

  • SickAndTired

And is he not bringing the troops home now? He is doing what he can in a time when he has to fix the problems that the previous administration created.

  • Pissed Off

#89: yeah now there's more deadly chemicals in tobacco products! THANKS OBAMA FOR MY CANCER!!!!

  • joy

#100: if he's bringing them back then why is he STILL sending more troops to Iraq?

  • Jaykayach

#52:  i definitely remember him freezing military pay.

  • Bobo

Why don't we vote not to vote for these jackasses in all the parties and make anyone running for a government office sign a contract making them criminally liable for any misuse of that office and go straight to jail if they break that contract. What happened to the law of misuse or treason that this country had at one time.  Stop complaining when you jackasses can't wait until the next election to vote someone into office just because they have the same party affiliation as your self.  Try looking at the content of someone character rather than what party they are supporting.  I am not affiliated with any party, I am proud to be able to make a choice about what or who I vote for, I mean isn't that what America is suppose to be about. Right to choose, choose right.

  • Jshirle20

This list would be a lot shorter if everything wasn't repeated 5 times

  • Gris2135

it is nice that ppl write good things presidents do in a world becoming more cynical every minute. One point though, the things he has done are helping the country a lot so no real need to make a list longer by saying the same thing 3 times at different points, makes people stop reading after a while, but i suppose that might be the point, to get ppl disinterested enough to not go and research it.

  • Shane

That is the dumbest thing Ive read in a long time! Completely idiotic. I love how you give him credit for sending  more troops to Afghanistan when one of his biggest campaign promises was that he would END THE WAR and bring the troops home. WTF!?!? Did you forget that? The only jobs he has created are more government jobs. That's right he grow the government bigger and we get to keep paying for it. Wake up people.

  • Pets2h

Bankrupted America, let gays be in the military, caused gas prices food prices to increase. Killed the economy, turned America into a homosexual party town where aour children have no idea between what is right and what is wrong. Obama is the most worthless excuse for a president this nation  has ever had. Half of the list that is written above is the raeson the country is bankrupt. National health care is bad. unless you want America to be like Europe. Further more Barrack is not even a US citizen buut of course if you think the above is progress you probably donot care.

  • Robertboyd

Get your facts straight.  The debt ceiling increase thats going to be passed this week, and the last one, are higher than ALL of the Bush increases, or Reagans.  Justifying the increases of trillions of dollars, because Reagan raised them 11 times, is quite a stupid silly argument.  Its like saying its ok to buy a brand new $100,000 porsche this time, because we bought 11 $3,000 cars in the past.  Thats one of the most ridiculous arguments I've heard in my entire left.  Furthermore, the increase was not to bail out the financial institutions, it was to pass Obamas stimulus bill of $800B, and other massive increases in federal spending.  The size of the federal government is up 44% in the lst 4 years alone.  The bailouts of the financial institutues were done before Obama was even President, but much of that money has been RETURNED, and credited towards Obamas budgets.  WHERE IS IT?

  • Jtea4me2

I agree Obama is not a miracle worker but he has accomplished a lot in his short time in office.  Let's not forget that Reagan had the cap on spending raised 11 times and Bush approximately 7 times.  So far they only raised it 1 time for Obama and that was to bail out the financial institutes.  Reagan was the one who removed the regulations on financial institutes giving them free reign to do as they pleased.  We see where that led us, the government had to bail them out.  They should have had to pay a fine equal to the amount of money they gave out in bonus's during this critical time in addition to paying the government back the money they borrowed.  They misused the government's money and should have been penalized for it.  Members of Congress, need to sacrifice some of the perks they presently get due to their position in government and stop making deals with lobbyist for the rewards they get.  Cut back on federal spending by cutting back on foreign aid.  I beleive in helping others and don't believe it should be stopped all together but decreased to help pay off some of our debts.  Mem-
bers of Congress need to remember that they were elected to serve the people of this nation and not their own personal agenda.

THANK YOU...and NO he was not elected Jesus-everytime we elect someone in to office...we suffer from short/long term memory loss...

As opposed to the misleading, arbitrary, subjective info about GOPers. Got
    it.

  • LibertyOrDeath

This is one of the most misleading, arbitrary, subjective lists I have ever read.  I am distraught that whoever compiled this list can vote in a Presidential election.  Wow.

Lets not forget Reagan's deficit increase.

  • polifan

There are a number of things listed at least twice. You acknowledge this a month ago, and yet they haven't been corrected. Surely a month is more then enough time to clean up the list.

#100 was actually done by Bush. Obama is simply following Bush's timetable.

I can't help but notice how a majority of these "accomplishments" involve giving taxpayer money to various favored groups. Certainly makes me question labeling them "accomplishments". Particularly with a $3 Trillion national debt.
Why should I pay for someone else to buy a house? I had to work & save to buy my own. If you insist on providing aid for home buyers, supposedly to help the construction industry, why limit it to first time buyers? Don't discriminate! Some "accomplishment".
    15. “Cash for clunkers” program offers vouchers to trade in fuel inefficient, polluting old cars for new cars; stimulates auto sales.
It did not stimulate auto sales! All it did was move them from one month to another. People who were going to buy a car anyone bought it sooner. After the "clunkers" program ended, auto sales dropped into the toilet. In addition, the requirement that the "clunkers" be destroyed created an artificial shortage of used cars. This created a hardship for the poorer individuals who couldn't afford a new car.
    42. Immediate and efficient response to the floods in North Dakota and other natural disasters.
While failing to do so with the BP oil disaster in the Gulf.
    4. Signed order to close the prisoner “torture camp” at Guantanamo Bay
    Which is still open.
    98. Improved relations with Iran.
*LOL* Have you looked at them lately? If he "improves" them any more we'll be in a full shooting war.
    81. Provided attractive tax write-offs for those who buy hybrid automobiles.
Why should I be forced to pay to help someone else buy a new car when I can't afford to do so myself?
I could go on, but I think I've made my point.

Read our guidelines. If someone is uncivil, baiting, calling names, or whatever else is covered, we delete. Disagreement is never a reason to flag or delete, as you can see by reading comments in other threads.

Btw, we don't "flag"... readers do. We simply see that a comment has been flagged.

If everyone expressed themselves the way you just did, there'd be no problem.

"Deep down, we all know why he is in office"? What do you mean by that, exactly?

  • notindenial

This is quite amusing to me. I think it is very absurd that you threatened to flag someone for voicing an objective opinion. This entire country doesn't have to agree with your repetitive list defending our so-called president. If his actions and promises are in question, by the people, since he has been in office, why would you feel you need to take it upon yourself to comprise a list of "accomplishments?" Shouldn't he justify it himself if his people are doubting his competency in office? I mean let's be honest here, I'm not scared to say it. Deep down, we all know why he is in office. The great majority of the people that voted for him didn't even know who the vice-president candidate was nor had they ever voted in their life. So you can flag me for speaking the truth. Pull your head out of your butt! Hillary should have been in office!

  • pcolabucfan

You know what, I have had enough of this, spamming ???? Im spamming by giving my opinion like the other Liberal posters on here wow just wow, I don't need any help proving my point you are doing a pretty good job, Keep looking if you want a job bad enough you WILL find one, I guess I am not welcome here anymore so good luck and goodnight, signing out sorry if I offended anyone

  • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

Actually, I don't work for anyone. But if you spam us, you get flagged. If you follow our guidelines, you'll be fine.

r u really serious ? do you work for NPR?

  • pcolabucfan

    yes

Um, pcolabucfan? You're starting to spam us. I've gotten at least 4 comments in the past 5 minutes. That's a nono.

Good. It sure beats GOP plutocracy and oligarchy.

  • pcolabucfan

As the perennial Socialist presidential candidate Norman Thomas once said: “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

  • pcolabucfan

He has only delivered on about 10 of those so called promises

  • InMyOpinion

I'm sure any of your rebuttals would come from the same place. Be a critical thinker and realize he came into a firestorm and is fixing a lot of problems that were created by a president that was ignorantly re-elected because of his perceived ability after 9/11. Take that out of the equation and our country would have seen him for his failures and the problems he was causing. I just wish someone would take another look at the laws Georgie put in place.

  • InMyOpinion

That isn't accurate. You have to keep in mind what he "inherited" from his predecessor that led to the largest deficit EVER. he didn't just come in and mess up our budget. It was already screwed up when he took it over. And you have to spend money sometimes to get things right. Gotta spend money to make money (or in this case, right the ship that is our country going into one of the worst economic recessions since we all know when).

  • The Mex

Please provide verifiable references and or sources, for each one of the caims you give "THE ONE", on your 108 point list. I suspect your list is made up from comments and opinions of talking-heads in the main stream media that support "The Great One's " agenda and polices!

  • http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/ GottaLaff

Yes indeed. I failed to notice that, sorry.

  • A PATRIOT

We all need to stop the insanity that is gripping our great nation and come together as we have in past times and return the Greatness to America. I call on each and everyone in America to look at that other person "across the aisle" and instead of seeiing an advasary and foe, see that someone as another AMERICAN and find a way to SMILE and say I'm Glad Your Here lets get it done TOGETHER.

    .

  • Beckyhans

I don't believe he created that, I believe he inherited that from Georgie!

  • Tygerwritesfiction

This is a great list. I did notice that a couple of things were listed twice, surely an honest error.

  • Map2trucking

Thank you. Why is the truth so hard to find. Maybe the corporate media doesnt like these policies. Finally a president working for the working people of this country. Thank you President Obama

  • born2bbad6972

You should read an article about something that is on the same lines as this one at Commonsense and Political Doody at http://commonsenseandpoliticaldoody.blogspot.com/ tittled No One Man Government Here! It touches base with how the president is seen and how his administrations is being run.

Try Bush's two wars, Medicare Part D and taxcuts for the wealthy that weren't paid for and he didn't put them into his budget. Obama put Bush's spending in his budget and now you guys try pin the spending on him. Nice try.

  • waimeawitch

Thom Hartmann has a running challenge on his show - my wording may not be exact, but, he's asking Republicans what good legislation has the Republican party initiated for the American people. So far no one has been able to answer and yet they keep being voted in.

  • Getaclue

Don't for get created the largest deficit EVER.

  • Lesley

So glad to see this. Thank you. I'm tired of people complaining and criticizing Obama. He's done more than I believe McCain would have, and in less than 2 years. People want and expect quick fixes (in every thing) and it's unrealistic.

  • Janet

He also authorized funding for families to take care of their loved ones returning home from the war who have brain injuries.

  • http://twitter.com/cozella cozella

The same question should be asked of the Republican. So who are you with the Party of HOPE or the party of nope?

  • Clancy

Yeah, but what has he done for us lately? Sadly, come November, the only thing that will likely matter is the 9.5%+ unemployment rate. That's always difficult to rationalize to voters, even if you keep telling them that "things could be much worse."

BTW, my Uncle Frank claims to have been elected Jesus in 1978. From what he told me, it's not really that great of a job.

  • Sbafarms

Kudos on such an extensive listing peace and light
