A major advantage of having a Twitter pal like the wonderful Lalo Alcaraz (@LaloAlcaraz) is that he generously shares his work with us.

In a recent comic strip, Lalo zeroed in on Trayvon Martin's killer, George Zimmerman. As you may recall, George Zimmerman's Criminal History Includes Alleged Violence and Temper (Audio and New Documents).

And recently, he got into a little, erm, "tiff" with his estranged wife during which time he was taken into custody after an incident with a gun... again.

Lalo takes it from there:

Shellie Zimmerman:

"I didn't see a gun, but I know my husband. I saw him in a stance and a look in his eyes that I've never seen before. His shirt was half-way unbuttoned and he was putting his hand in his shirt and saying, 'Please step closer, please step closer.' So I think that just logically I assumed he had a gun on him."

"This person that I'm married to and that I'm divorcing, I kind of realize now that I don't know him and I really don't know what he's capable of."

"After standing by him, he kind of left and I guess kind of went on a victory tour without me. I thought I was living a life with him and that we were going to kind of rebuild after all this, and he had other plans for me."

"I'm conflicted... Anyone would doubt that innocence... I have doubts. But I also believe the evidence."

"He did not profile Trayvon Martin."

John Boehner calls Rush Limbaugh's "use of those words... inappropriate"

Here are a couple of posts about the back story involving Rush Limbaugh's vile comments about law student Sandra Fluke's defense of access to birth control.

By the way, President Obama called Fluke today "to offer her words of encouragement amid a controversy involving Rush Limbaugh's words toward her." Impressive.

Via First Read:

"The speaker obviously believes the use of those words was inappropriate, as is trying to raise money off the situation," Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said in a statement.

This from the guy who raises money off of his own despicable statements about all kinds of issues. Okay, they're not as abhorrent as Rush's, but the policies Speaker Boehner stands for and tries to push through the House certainly aren't good for women, and do tacitly encourage right wing nut jobs like Rush to up the stakes until it becomes the GOP agenda on crack.

But thanks for the statement.

Notice he said the "words" were inappropriate. What about what was behind the words?

The comment refers to Democratic fundraising efforts related to Limbaugh's comments, in which he called Fluke a "slut." Fluke had been asked to testify about the policy of Georgetown University, a Catholic college, toward covering contraception for students. Her testimony came amid a controversy in Washington in recent weeks regarding the extent to which religious institutions should be required to cover contraceptive services as part of their insurance policies, despite moral objectives to contraception.

She's fast becoming THE new hero to anyone who believes in equality, women's rights, and fairness.

Video- NBC's Rossen Reports: Anyone can buy guns, no questions asked

F'ng terrifying. The whole report is chilling.

Hundreds of thousands of guns are for sale, on hundreds of websites. We responded and set up meetings at popular shopping malls. We bought everything from a police-grade pistol to a semiautomatic assault rifle. We did it over and over again, even hinting that our buyer is a criminal.

Within 12 hours, we bought eight dangerous guns – even a 50-caliber weapon so powerful it could take down a helicopter.

Someone needs to tell our vapid money grubbing lawmakers who jump when the NRA snaps about Paul Waldman's study on their real power to sway elections-

The conclusion to be drawn from these data will be surprising to many: The NRA has virtually no impact on congressional elections. The NRA endorsement, so coveted by so many politicians, is almost meaningless. Nor does the money the organization spends have any demonstrable impact on the outcome of races. In short, when it comes to elections, the NRA is a paper tiger.

Emphasis mine.
