Rand Paul, what if a Dem joked about trading YOU "instead of 5 Taliban"? Hmm?

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

not funny hahaha no

This tweet is already a couple of days old, but calling out Rand Paul for his tone deaf idiocy never gets old:

rand paul tweet Bergdahl trade Dems

He got a lot of Twitter backlash, but check out the very first reply he received:

"Isn't that redundant? and how would you tell the difference?"

Two class acts.

What patriots.

What jokesters.

What the f***.

The real joke is Rand Paul, a very, very bad one.

So let's get this straight. According to Paul and his fanboy @varifrank, the words Democrats and Taliban are interchangeable and/or President Obama should have handed over Dems to the Taliban. To be imprisoned. And tortured. And possibly killed. Isn't that a knee-slapper? Are we laughing yet?

No. We are not.

Some "jokes" are not funny, Rand Paul. And that you would make light of a very serious situation, that you would imply that Democrats' lives are worthless, that you would equate them with deadly enemies is pretty appalling.

He's your guy, GOP. This is the lowlife many in your party would like to see as commander in chief, residing in the White House, attending state dinners, handling delicate negotiations with other world leaders, and as the president who is responsible for the health and welfare of all Americans.

Go ahead, Republicans. Make Rand Paul your nominee. We dare you.

VIDEO- N. Carolina GOP lawmaker: Obama not a traitor because he hasn't "done one thing to harm Kenya."

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

Pittman No. Carolina racist Obama kenya

North Carolina GOP state Rep. Larry Pittman is a real card. What a comedian. He's a regular Laugh. Riot! Italicized!

No, I'll do you one better: He oughta get his very own late night talk show... so we can turn him off.

Here's what he told his supporters at a town hall meeting in Concord, via Taegan. Equally disturbing: the crowd laughed:

Someone had posted something with a picture of Barack Obama and across it said "traitor." And, you know, I don't always agree with the guy, I certainly didn't vote for him but I gotta defend him on this one.

I just don't think it's right at all to call Barack Obama a traitor. There's a lot of things he's done wrong but he is not a traitor. Not as far as I can tell. I haven't come across any evidence yet that he has done one thing to harm Kenya.

Timing is Everything Dept: Lindsey Graham tweets 'joke' about John McCain dying in Syria

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

nice glass of stfu

I just got back after spending the day with my family, scanned a few tweets to catch up, and ran across this one from my Twitter pal Christine Pelosi, totally unaware of the context:

pelosi tweet graham joke

Then I saw this:

graham tweet Syria

First rule of comedy: It has to be funny, not only to the joke teller, but to the audience. That's kind of mandatory.

Wisecracking about a diplomatic mission now makes your obsession and accusations about the Benghazi Not-Scandal off limits, Linds. You blew it. You were tasteless, you showed terrible judgment, and your timing was atrocious.

Call me crazy, but I was under the impression that Memorial Day is the time to honor the sacrifices of our amazing military and dedicated officials, as opposed to say, cheapening them.

Lindsey apparently didn't get the non-edited memo.

"Keep calm and rape them" tee shirt for sale on Amazon UK

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

wtf smaller

UPDATE: I ran a search today and it looks like these have been pulled.

rape tee amazon 3Link

rape tee amazon 1Link

rape tee amazon 2Link

Was this intended to be some sick joke? Is the site for real? Is the tee shirt? Have I been punk'd?

I don't think so. I Googled "UK Amazon" and did a search. The top photo is what I found, the other two links were sent to me by Twitter pal @samuelpeepses.

If it is, indeed, supposed to be "funny", then the "joke" is at the expense of women who have suffered traumatic, life-changing, devastating violence. If not, which is as unimaginable as hawking this dreck, does Amazon bother to screen their submissions? Why would they sell such an appalling tee? And profit off of it?

Nice message to send out to the kiddies, too, right Amazon?

Taco restaurant thinks their “How to Catch an Illegal Immigrant” t-shirts are "witty and comical"

A Mexican food restaurant in South Carolina features the above tee shirt and considers it appropriate and funny. It features a box trap with two tacos placed just-so to entice undocumented immigrants.

Isn't that a knee slapper? I bet you can't wait to buy one of your very own, because hey, they are clever-r-r-r! Nothing says "witty" like a racist tee shirt.

And by witty I mean offensive as hell and idiotic.

NBCLatino has reaction to the shirts here, as well as this:

Taco Cid did not respond to an NBC Latino request for comment but updated its website with a statement.

Our t-shirts were created as a witty and comical statement regarding ILLEGAL immigrants. There are NO racial nor hate remarks towards any specific ethnic group. Taco Cid and its employees are not racists,” the statement continued. ”As most tax paying Americans, we do believe ILLEGAL immigrants are taxing the system we support and live under, thereby, causing us to work harder and pay more taxes in support of their illegal activities which our government has simply chosen to look the other way. Is it racist to disagree with those who are not supporting the American system?”

Taco Cid employees wear the shirts and they are also available for purchase, according to Think Progress.

Brian Cohen, is the owner of BeWild.com, which also sells the shirts and says the shirts are not his designs — they just sell them.

Oh well, then, if it's a "statement regarding ILLEGAL immigrants" it's perfectly acceptable, A-OK, hunky dory. Carry on!

As of now, Yelp.com has them at a one-star rating:

"Drug front" indeed. You'd have to be on drugs to patronize that place.

Yahoo News fires bureau chief who said (VIDEO): Romneys "happy to have a party with black people drowning."

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

Oops.

Politico is reporting that Washington bureau chief David Chalian was fired by Yahoo news after being overheard on a hot mic saying this about the Romneys: “They aren’t concerned at all. They are happy to have a party with black people drowning.”

Of course, he was referring to Hurricane Isaac.

Yahoo News has apologized to the Romneys.

VIDEO ADDED: Rand Paul's bad gay joke and even worse backing image of rifle pointed at Pres. Obama's head

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

Ron Paul, you might consider grounding your son. For the rest of his political life. Once for this not-funny and small-minded quip, via the Des Moines Register:

At the Iowa Faith & Freedom event, Paul mocked President Obama’s remark that his view on marriage was evolving.  “Call me cynical, but I didn’t think his views on marriage could get any gayer,” he said.

UPDATE: Thanks as always to :

Har dee har har. What a knee slapper. Where did you get your "humor" from, Willard Romney?

And again for this, via HuffPo:

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is lending his name and political clout to a gun group's email campaign that features an image of a rifle pointed at the head of President Barack Obama. [...]

The so-called Million Rifle Ban is another popular rallying point for gun rights advocates upset with an Obama administration decision to block the import of hundreds of thousands of Korean War-era rifles over concerns about their magazines and firepower. Paul has supported the group's efforts before, but the latest push, shown in the picture above, displays an M1 Garand -- the rifle model at the heart of the controversy -- pointing toward Obama's head.

HuffPo updated with this: "The image housed at the website for the campaign has been changed. The rifle now points toward the head of Sen. Paul."

Timing, and aim, are everything, right Rand?
