Video- Citizens United Obama film to air on TV

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

How do you fight against this shit, all propped up by more money than most of us will see ever? Hopefully the only people it will reach will be those who already believe this crap. Via Politico. THIS is why Supreme Court Justices matter.

Citizens United has struck a deal with a dozen television stations to run its hour-long film featuring voters disaffected with President Barack Obama, sending the Republican critique of the incumbent into tens of millions of homes in the lead-up to Election Day, the group’s officials told POLITICO.

The Hope and the Change” directed by Stephen Bannon, who made the Sarah Palin movie “The Undefeated,” was first unveiled last month and it aired during the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

The movie’s wide release — backed by a large advertising campaign behind it — was part of the goal of the Citizens United court case that was decided in 2010 by the U.S. Supreme Court and helped to dramatically alter the landscape for political donations by allowing the unfettered flow of corporate cash into campaigns.

“This (the court case) is why I did ‘Citizens United,’” David Bossie, the group’s president said. “This would have been a criminal act under McCain-Feingold before my court case.”

Right wing blog threatens "radical liberal nuts" families: "Posting their personal info on our website & Google bomb them is priceless."

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

I hesitate to link to the source of this blog post, so if you'd like to know where it's from, please contact me privately:

Something that we do among other things is to label each one of these radical liberal nuts, we started a list a year ago and it grows by the day. When I get some progressive loon coming after me on a regular basis me and my team get their name and picture if they have one, if not find pictures, phone numbers of their family and friends and tweet the shit out of it. If you have a Facebook account post their info on there, if you want you can hand it off to me and I will get someone on it to write up a quick post on them. It is imperative that we do this, getting in a long drawn out Twitter war is useless; posting their personal info on our website and Google bomb them is priceless. It drives them crazy, and they will change their tune if you keep at them; remember the internet is forever and when people go to do searches on them what turns up? Pages upon pages of which they really are, and that effects their personal life’s and if they ever get off their lazy ass to get a job their new boss will find plenty of interesting reading material to include in their interview.

Aside from pointing out the obvious--his poor English and grammar skills and that he's more than a little unhinged-- observing the mind set of this member of a substantial group of far right wingers gives you an idea of how far they'll go.

I know who this person is, I've spoken to him on the phone once when he posed as a Planned Parenthood supporter. I've been the recipient of his multiple Twitter account's endless tweets of smears and lies that were spread about me by a so-called "liberal" who he's also targeting, who's also spent years trying to ruin my professional and personal reputation.

So I speak from personal experience. I've been on the receiving end and I still am.

Some of our readers are aware of these tactics, and some of you even know to what and to whom I'm referring and how deeply disturbing this has all been for so many of us.

Not all conservatives are bad and not all "liberals" are good.

I just thought I'd make you aware of what many of us face on a day-to-day basis. If you know an effective way to deal with it, speak up now.

Source: "No one hated his guts more than [MSNBC president] Phil [Griffin]”

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

All the rumors, whisper campaigns, and outright complaints won't change many minds about Keith Olbermann. We who are FOK (Friends of Keith) are loyal to him for a very good reason or twelve: He's bright, funny, charismatic, informative, and delivers in ways nobody else does. I have personally learned more on a regular basis from his show and Rachel Maddow's then I have from any other TV news/commentary show.

Also, there is heart behind Keith's and Rachel's work. In Keith's case, it was related to health care. As I've mentioned before, I owe him for insisting we all prepare for end of life decisions. I am also grateful to him for having drawn attention to NTAfund.org, to which I donated.

So, you see, Phil Griffin, from my p.o.v., that of an informed, appreciative viewer, I don't really care if the rumors are true or not. It's the end product that matters, not so much what goes on behind the scenes. I have had a positive relationship with Keith on Twitter (he is one of the few on-air personalities who actually responds more than once), and whether or not I agree with everything the man says or does, I will always be grateful for his immense contribution to getting a progressive voice out there where it counts.

With that:

Every boss he’s ever had has hated Keith’s guts, and probably no one hated his guts more than [MSNBC president] Phil [Griffin],” the [former MSNBC hand] said. “And because Keith doesn’t really give a shit about the kinds of things most people give a shit about—you know, things like having a job and sort of knowing when to choose your battles—sooner or later he explodes.”

What many people don’t understand about Olbermann is that he more or less was the boss of MSNBC’s prime-time lineup. ... "The last five years, he was running things.” [...]

And if anyone had any trepidation about the big “get,” Gore dismissed the notion with a wry joke: “To be candid, the thing I worry about most is Keith’s show because he’s so shy.”

From what has been reported, he'll run a few things over at Current, too.

It's unclear how reliable the above article is, so until we hear more, this is all we have.

It's come to this: Conservatives accuse Obama of lying about Giffords opening eyes; her doctors disagree

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

Last night, President Obama broke some news: Gabby Giffords opened her eyes for the first time, all on her own, and his announcement drew ecstatic cheers from the audience at the memorial service.

People smiled for the first time in days. He gave the nation a reason to feel optimistic.

But according to some conservative websites, the president was lying.

How desperate must conservatives be if they're parsing the word "open"? And they mocked former President Clinton for "is"?  A woman is fighting for her life, fighting to regain the most basic functions, and Fox et al are trying to discredit President Obama with that?

Really?

In one of the most cynical displays in recent memory,Fox Nation and MRC arm CNS News - suggested that President Obama lied last night when he said that Rep. Giffords had opened her eyes for the first time following the lead of Gateway Pundit Jim Hoft, several  conservative websites - including shortly after his Wednesday night visit to the hospital.

In a recently-completed press conference, Giffords' doctor Peter Rhee explained that what Obama said last night about Giffords opening her eyes was "true."

Earlier today, I was called "unhinged" (among other things) by some, apparently, very nervous righties, because they didn't appreciates my point of view. It's no coincidence that they seem to do that whenever President Obama or any of his idea, programs, policies, or those of fellow Democrats, are well-received.

Last night President Obama was caring, effective, and, as always, well-spoken. Because of that, because he succeeded in starting to heal a mourning nation, these cowards felt it necessary to resort to tasteless smears at the worst possible time, in order to score a few lost points.

Not only is that destructive to the country they sweartogod they love, it's  destructive to their own party.

Just keep digging that hole for yourselves, guys. We'll watch.

AUDIO: Glenn Beck smears 11-year-old Obama daughter

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

I don't usually bother with Beck. I think he's certifiable, has nothing of worth to say, and leave it to Paddy to post his drivel. But this was outrageous enough to get my attention.

Now I know why I pretend he doesn't exist. Scum. Bag:

Glenn Beck, who repeatedly and angrily tells his alleged persecutors to "leave the families alone," spent a good chunk of his radio program this morning mocking and attacking the intelligence of President Obama's 11-year-old daughter, Malia.
