Well, we're on our way to that season when serious folks announce that they're going to run for office. We all know about the presidential hopefuls, Cruz, Paul, Rubio, Clinton, Biden.
But what about the thousands of other offices, local and statewide? There's a lot of people who are busy tossing their hats into the ring that we've hardly heard of, but they're going to make a run for these elected offices. Sometimes though, it's hard to keep a straight face.
So here's a few of the people who have recently or currently are running. These are all genuine, I assure you. Some will instill confidence, others, well. You be the judge or perhaps you prefer:

Now for a few more, who will ever forget the inimitable former House of Representatives member, Dick Swett from New Hampshire; Robin Rape, Texas Precinct 1 constable (a lawman's name if I ever heard one); Idaho U.S. Senator Mike "Crap" Crapo; or the late, great--
Finally, I leave you with a man who pronounces his name as it's spelled. It's not "Baynor" -- but:
So you now know what's in a name. Don't forget to vote in your next election. It's worth the time no matter what your favorite candidate's name is.
