Cue the Right Wing Hounds!! Judge orders use of Islamic law in Tampa lawsuit over mosque leadership

Oh man, it's just started, but you know O'Reilly will be featuring this guy in his next "Pinheads" segment. Someone get him a bodyguard stat.

TAMPA — The question of what law applies in any Florida courtroom usually comes down to two choices: federal or state.

But Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen is being attacked by conservative bloggers after he ruled in a lawsuit March 3 that, to resolve one crucial issue in the case, he will consult a difference source.

"This case," the judge wrote, "will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic Law."

Nielsen said he will decide in a lawsuit against a local mosque, the Islamic Education Center of Tampa, whether the parties in the litigation properly followed the teachings of the Koran in obtaining an arbitration decision from an Islamic scholar.

Nielsen, an appointee of Gov. Jeb Bush in 2000 who was subsequently elected, also did not return calls for comment.

Federal judge keeps Sharia law restriction out of Oklahoma Constitution

Another wacky, crazy "activist" judge does the right thing:

An Oklahoma City federal judge Monday ruled against a voter- approved restriction on Islamic law.

In a 15-page order, U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange continued to keep the restriction out of the Oklahoma Constitution. Her ruling was a victory for an Oklahoma City Muslim leader who had complained his constitutional religious rights were in jeopardy. [...]

The judge wrote: “This order addresses issues that go to the very foundation of our country, our (U.S.) Constitution, and particularly, the Bill of Rights. Throughout the course of our country’s history, the will of the ’majority’ has on occasion conflicted with the constitutional rights of individuals, an occurrence which our founders foresaw and provided for through the Bill of Rights.”

Quoting from a 1943 U.S. Supreme Court decision, she wrote, “One’s right to life, liberty, and property, to free speech, a free press, freedom of worship and assembly, and other fundamental rights may not be submitted to vote; they depend on the outcome of no elections.”

Measure would outlaw Islamic law in Oklahoma -- where it doesn't exist

Now that we've had a "credible threat", this kind of thing will only get worse... after blaming President Obama, of course. After all, everyone knows he's the king of all Kenyan Muslim terrorists:

As the country grapples with its worst economic downturn in decades and persistent unemployment, voters in Oklahoma next week will take up another issue — whether they should pass a constitutional amendment outlawing Sharia, or Islamic law.

Supporters of the initiative acknowledge that they do not know of a single case of Sharia being used in Oklahoma, which has only 15,000 Muslims.

"Oklahoma does not have that problem yet," said Republican state Rep. Rex Duncan, the author of the ballot measure, who says supporters in more than a dozen states are ready to place similar initiatives before voters in 2012. "But why wait until it's in the courts?"

Sure, why wait? Oh, and just in case, let's outlaw the Tea Baggers before they shred the Constitution. And maybe we should outlaw former witches, because they could cast a spell over the entire country and do some real harm. What about outlawing those who would use Second Amendment remedies against their fellow citizens, just as a precaution? And of course, we should think about outlawing those who refuse to divulge their policy positions, because who know what they could be thinking?!

Perhaps we should consider outlawing those who would outlaw entire groups of people, because they are the real danger.

Sharron Angle's hypocritical "closed event"

Yesterday, I posted an audio clip of Sharron Angle's delusions about an American city that no longer exists, that she claims is being controlled by Sharia law.

If Angle is manufacturing entire towns in her feeble little mind, then how can she possibly be qualified to run for the U.S. Senate?  And that doesn't even count her political views.

Today brings more revelations. We have a Las Vegas Sun post that points out her blatant hypocrisy and alarmingly deficient short-term memory:

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle on Saturday bashed “favor-buying whore” politicians, seemingly oblivious to the hypocrisy of her remarks given that she offered her own political “juice” as leverage in trying to persuade a third-party candidate to drop out of the race.

While talking about the health care reform bill that Congress passed this year, Angle said: “We don’t need some kind of favor-buying whore ... Harry Reid isn’t just another vote. He pushed it, he promoted it, he made the deals.

Angle made the comment during a Las Vegas rally, billed as a free speech event intended to “clear up misconceptions,” but to which the press and supporters of other candidates were unwelcome.

Did she say... "whore"? I wonder how she feels about Jerry Brown's aide using the same term. I'm willing to bet she'd condemn it. But that's secondary to her puzzling oblivion to her own back room efforts.

And apparently, "free speech" now means "closed event". And by "now" I mean "just like 2001-2008".

Go here for more of her brilliant plan to ruin the country.
