VIDEO: Mitt Romney didn't believe his own words, bashes Obama over sequester, Ann Romney "happy to blame the media"

ann romney you people

Earlier Paddy posted a video of "Serial Loser Romney: We Lost Because Minorities Love ObamaCare". Here are more excerpts from that interview:

Willard Romney:

“I’m not gonna second guess what other people have to say. Look, I don’t look back, I look forward.”

Sound familiar? Mitt still can't seem to come up with an original thought. President Obama, 2009:

"On the other hand, I also have a belief that we need to look forward as opposed to looking backwards. … My orientation is going to be moving forward."

Ann Romney, "She-Lion":

"I'm like a she-lion when it comes to defending Mitt... " As opposed to a Cowardly Lion? Thank you for clarifying.

"People didn't really get to know Mitt for who he was." Yes, in fact we did, which is why he lost so badly.

"I believe it was the media's fault... I'm happy to blame the media." 'Nuff said.

"There's more bias in favor of the other side." Oh really?

And then she went on to say that the Obama campaign portrayed her husband unfairly.

"He truly cared about the American people." Tell that to the 47%, Latinos, African Americans, the poor and middle class, and family dogs everywhere.

"If Mitt were there, in the office, we would not be facing sequestration right now." We'd be facing irreversible economic disaster.

Here's what Willard said about his secretly recorded "47 percent" comments (You can see it in this video at about 8:00):

“Yeah, it was a very unfortunate statement that I made. It is not what I meant. I didn’t express myself as I wished I would have. You know, when you speak in private, you don’t spend as much time thinking about how something could be twisted and distorted and could come out wrong and be used."

"What I said is not what I believed."

“[T]here is no question that hurt and did real damage to my campaign.”

"Unfortunate" is an understatement. It was an utter fiasco that showed his true colors. And even when one speaks in private, not expecting the truth to be taped and revealed on a continuous national media loop, one should realize that one is still vulnerable to being outed as the insulated, ultra-wealthy, uncaring, insensitive ass that one is.

"What I said is not what I believed." Sure it was. It was precisely what you believed or you wouldn't have said it secretly to your wealthy donor buddies. Then there's that additional problem of your attitude and policies reflecting your own words, the ones that you believed.

Nothing was distorted, there was full context, and it did not come out "wrong," it came out exactly as Mitt intended.

"Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring."

Many have gotten in the ring, and few have embarrassed themselves as badly the Romneys did and continue to do.

Conservative super-PAC FreedomWorks made video of fake panda bear performing oral sex on fake Hillary Clinton

There conservatives go again, showing off those family values of theirs. And by family values I mean hypocrisy, incredibly vile taste, and sexism.

David Corn at Mother Jones is reporting on tea party group and super-PAC FreedomWorks (where Dick Armey used to work) producing a video of a fake panda bear performing fake oral sex on a fake Hillary Clinton. The video was scrapped, but that won't erase the sick incentive, the reporting, the mental image, or the disgusting subject matter:

In one segment of the film, according to a former official who saw it, [Adam Brandon, executive vice president of the group] is seen waking from a nap at his desk. In what appears to be a dream or a nightmare, he wanders down a hallway and spots a giant panda on its knees with its head in the lap of a seated Hillary Clinton and apparently performing oral sex on the then-secretary of state. Two female interns at FreedomWorks were recruited to play the panda and Clinton. One intern wore a Hillary Clinton mask. The other wore a giant panda suit that FreedomWorks had used at protests to denounce progressives as panderers. (See herehere, and here.) Placing the panda in the video, a former FreedomWorks staffer says, was “an inside joke.”

Another FreedomWorks staffer who worked there at the time confirms that ”Yes, this video was created.” [...]

"How was that not some form of sexual harassment?" a former FreedomWorks official asks, noting that two female interns had been requested to act out a pretend sex scene. "And there were going to be thousands of Christian conservatives at this thing. This was a terrible lack of judgment."

"Lack of judgment." That's putting it mildly.

FreePAC, a FreedomWorks conference in July, 2012, was supposed to have shown the video, but that never happened. Apparently some of the saner staffers were appalled enough to change a few minds.

According to a former FreedomWorks official, Adam Brandon defended the film. He found it to be creative and funny. To repeat, he found it to be  creative and funny.

As we've noted in previous posts, including AUDIO– Fox mocks 102-year-old who waited hours to vote: “What’s the big deal? She was happy, conservatives have a very twisted, perverted definition of the word "funny."

Doonesbury: Shhh... You didn't hear it from the Speaker, but future of the GOP is gerrymandering, voter suppression!

But going beyond the snark, this is pretty serious stuff. Via the Maddow Blog (and please watch the video above):

That's the Republican State Leadership Committee touting the effects of its Redistricting Majority Project, or REDMAP. They write:

President Obama won reelection in 2012 by nearly 3 points nationally, and banked 126 more electoral votes than Governor Mitt Romney.  Democratic candidates for the U.S. House won 1.1 million more votes than their Republican opponents.  But the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives is a Republican and presides over a 33-seat House Republican majority during the 113th Congress.  How? One needs to look no farther than four states that voted Democratic on a statewide level in 2012, yet elected a strong Republican delegation to represent them in Congress: Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

VIDEO: Mitt Romney "should lose the election just on this issue."

United Steelworkers' Leo Gerard spoke out on behalf of the non-union workers on the Ed Show:

"This is a disgrace! [Mitt Romney] should lose the election just on this issue."

"This can't be the America we're headed to. We've gotta stop this from happening."

To refresh your memory, the Bain-owned company, Sensata, is outsourcing Illinois jobs to China; employees want Mitt Romney to intervene. The soon-to-be-ex-workers have been forced to train their own Chinese replacements, and to add insult to injury, had to take down the American flag (added: temporarily). That's right, Bain Capital forced Sensata to take down an American flag and put up a Chinese one.

Their jobs are being shipped to China in November.

How's that for patriotism? America first, right Mitt?

New York Times:

“[Romney] owns about $8 million worth of Bain funds that hold 51 percent of Sensata’s shares.  If Sensata saves money by closing the Freeport plant, that could add money to Mr. Romney’s trust accounts, now or after the election.”

The company is located in Freeport, Illinois, but now they soon-to-be-ex-employees are calling it "Romneyville, suburb of Bainsport."
