VIDEO: A gentle reminder to Whitestockers*

The House I Live In (1945)
Uploaded by Lost_Shangri_La_Horizon. - Full seasons and entire episodes online.

A young Frank Sinatra is in the studio with a full orchestra. He records a take of "If You Are But a Dream," then breaks for a smoke. From the studio, he steps into an alley where he sees nearly a dozen kids chasing one smaller boy. Frank stops them, asks why, and they tell him it's because of the boy's religion. So Frank asks them if they're Nazis and explains a few things about America, blood banks, World War II, and teamwork. Then he sings "The House I Live In" for them. Off the lads scamper, and the kid Frank's saved gives him a look of gratitude.

If only the extremists who insist upon a hostile takeover of America were more like the kids at the end of this clip.

H/t: 42bkdodgr, who reminds us that, since this was recorded in 1945, the word "Jap" is in it.

Quote-O'-The-Day: Real America edition

NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous, speaking at the "Reclaim the Dream" rally:

"It's time to make sure our country - when they turn on the TV - sees itself reflected back."

He must mean this:

The crowd at Al Sharpton’s ‘Reclaim the Dream’ rally in Washington.

v. this:

Glenn Beck’s ‘Restoring Honor’ rally in Washington, DC is underway.

Whitestock does not reflect "real America", no matter how hard the zealots try to convince us otherwise.

PhotOh! Whitestock v. Reclaim the Dream

My Twitter bud, JuneMo41, is posting live Twitpics from the real Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration, as opposed to the laughingstock now known as "Whitestock".

I'll share a few to give you the flavor of what's going on there. Then we can compare them to Whitestock.

"Whoot whoot... No Justice No Peace"

There are so many young people here *heartmelts*

Now let's take a peek at the Whitestock crowd:

Now you know why the name "Whitestock" is so appropriate.
