Citizens United Decision Makes Prostitution Legal According To Expert Testifying To Senate

Prostitute Customer

Citizens United. Ah, what a slippery slope the Supreme Court hath delivered. The 5-4 decision upheld that unlimited business money donations are merely expressions of first amendment rights, commonly known as our freedom of speech. As such, they cannot be regulated. So, that's the way you SCOTUS jurists want to play the game.

What hell hath you wrought, you nine black-robed crusaders?

A constitutional law professor, Jamie Raskin was called by the Senate to come in and speak about his field of expertise and how the first amendment might/should/could be interpreted. Though the senators thought they were going to hear how the Citizens United decision would affect money in political campaigns, they also got some news which was surprising -- and in a great way for Sen. David Vitter (R-La.)

Raw Story:

An American law professor told senators on Tuesday that outlawing prostitution was a violation of the First Amendment if spending money was a form of free speech.

“Your other point though about money not equaling speech is a critical point for people to understand,” American University professor Jamie Raskin said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. “There are lots of forms of purchase and exchange that we criminalize, for example, buying sex. We don’t say if someone wants to purchase the services of a prostitute, well that is just an expression of their speech.”

Hear the short testimony for yourself. It's very interesting  and maybe has some valid points that those justices, voting for the majority in the Citizens United, case should have thought about BEFORE they issued their politically-motivated decision.

David Vitter 2014

I've written about GOP Senator David Vitter so often that I'm pretty sure-- due to my ingestion alone-- I've single-handedly increased the stock value of Tums, Pepto Bismol, and Alka-Seltzer. In fact, he sickens me so much that I dubbed him "the Vitter Pill," because he's just that. Hard. To take.

As you may recall, David Vitter favors corporations over sexual assault victims; he wants to defund Planned Parenthood; he was subpoenaed by the D.C. Madam and he (allegedly) has a diaper fetish. But despite his illegal sexcapades, the Republican party of "family values" has forgiven him for his sins and kept him in office.

Too bad they weren't as willing to be that generous with former President Bill Clinton, right? But that's another post for another time.

Right now, take a few seconds to watch this video. It tells you all you need to know about Senator David Vitter's so-called "values":

Here is the transcript of the words that oozed out of the mouth of David Vitter. He said them at a town hall meeting at Blanchard Elementary School on March 18, 2014, and-- wait for it-- he got applause. Grab the Pepto, here we go:

"I think the Koch brothers are two of the most patriotic Americans on the face of the Earth."

"... God bless the Koch brothers. They're fighting for our freedoms."

Or to put it another way, God bless Citizens United, the appalling influence of dark money, the demolition of democracy, and slime.

Fort Hood Is Front For Military Whorehouse

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

military prostitutes

Last week Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's (D - New York) proposed a bill to overhaul military sexual-assault policies, taking these cases out of the military's hands and putting them in civilian court failed. This was mostly accomplished by Republicans nay votes. It came five "yeas" short of the 60 needed to overcome a filibuster.

So was this really needed? A resounding YES!!!

For starters, here's why. Raw Story--

Ft. Hood sexual assault prevention coordinator accused of running prostitution ring

A Fort Hood Army sergeant, who coordinated the post’s sexual assault and harassment prevention program, faces multiple charges after he allegedly set up up a prostitution ring involving cash-strapped female soldiers.

So the man responsible for overseeing the sexual assault and  harassment program turns out to be the base pimp, running a whorehouse. How convenient.

According to ABC News, Sgt. 1st Class Gregory McQueen was charged Friday with 21 counts related to pandering, conspiracy, maltreatment of a subordinate, abusive sexual contact, and adultery and conduct of a nature to bring discredit to the armed forces.

If no changes are made to the military laws right now, this man's future falls into the hands of his fellow soldiers. He's reported to his next highest officer in rank. And if that soldier is a friend of his, or doesn't want to prosecute this case, it could ultimately be dropped.

Another Fort Hood soldier, Master Sgt. Brad Grimes was court-martialed in the case and convicted in December for conspiracy to patronize a prostitute and for solicitation to commit adultery. Grimes was subsequently reprimanded and demoted.

Sgt. McQueen remains suspended from his duties but is free pending trial.

That could and would never happen in civil court. If found guilty in civilian courts, these guys would be doing time.

So is Gillibrand's bill important to bring back up? You bet. And maybe it's this military case that will be the deciding factor by those military bought and paid for Senators to vote "yes" next time around. If we don't want to see the military become a government whorehouse, steps need to be taken. This could just be the straw that broke the pimp's back.

Sex Sells, Especially in Canada

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

legal prostition

Whackadoo Rob Ford, the mayor of Toronto, must be dancing in his skivvies right about now. He's going to be able to frequent more often his favorite dining places -- whore houses in Toronto -- actually in all of Canada. He won't be restricted to eating at home, as he put it so eloquently when he's got the urge.

Just hours ago, the Canadian's highest court in the land just struck down it's anti-prostitution laws. They didn't just strike them down, they smashed them. The vote on this measure was 9-0. No dissent.

HUFFPO:

OTTAWA (AP) — Canada's highest court has struck down the country's prostitution laws in their entirety in a unanimous 9-0 ruling.

The high court on Friday struck down all three prostitution-related laws: against keeping a brothel, living on the avails of prostitution, and street soliciting.

The ruling is a victory for sex workers seeking safer working conditions because it found that the laws violated the charter guarantee to life, liberty and security of the person.

I guess common sense and safety are really an important set of issues with our Canuck friends up north, "eh." Looks like hockey is going to be come Canada's second most popular after hours activity.

Now this isn't quite a done deal yet but it's cleared the highest hurdle -- the country's supreme court. But before you go planning your next vacation up north, there's a window in which the Parliament can strike this down. They have one year to do so. But if Rob Ford has any say, there's gonna be some partying with hookers going on up there as soon as the waiting period is up. If you're looking for a stock tip, I'm not a licensed broker, so I can't give you professional advice. Putting on my soothsayer hat, which looks very seasonal right about now, I'd consider investing in the Canadian tourism industry. They're going to be booking many a trip to the land of the Maple Leaf -- and it's not going to be for the hockey or maple syrup -- unless of course you're really into the kinky. This move is surely to be a boob, I mean boom to the Canadian economy.

How Many Times Can You Be A Virgin?

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

Catarina_Migliorini-615x345Virgin For Sale: Catarina Migliorini

Okay, let's get this straight. A 21-year-old Brazilian woman who last year auctioned off her virginity online for a whopping $780,000 now says she wants to sell it again.

Yes, Play It Again, Sam. This sounds outrageous on so many levels, but let's take them one at a time.

You only get one shot at being a virgin or so I've been told. That kind of goes with the definition. But, in the case of  Catarina Migliorini, she changed her mind when she met the man who first bought the rights to deflower her and they evidently didn't consummate the act. So, she's still a virgin. Oh what a relief that is.

Wondering how that all went down? The first time she put herself up for auction, a Japanese man, identified only as Natsu beat out competition from 14 other men, mainly from Brazil, but also from India, Australia and the United States. When she met up on the day of the event, she found out that the 53 year old Japanese man wasn't who he said he was. He turned out to be a 21 year old Japanese guy. I guess she was looking for for the "daddy" type so she rejected him. Maybe she secretly suffers from reverse ageism. Or maybe just the fear of the second syllable.

She's not saying how much of the promised consideration (money) if any that she got for refusing to go along with the initial consummation service. But the experience didn't turn her off, totally. She's prepared to go through with the "sacrifice" and this time for sure. Apparently, she's lowered her expectations.

She told the Brazilian showbiz website Pure People that she hopes to bring in at least $680,000. But anyone who's shopped on an line auctions knows, sometimes the prices for an item can rise as the bidding can become heated and the competition stiffens.

Money for sex sounds like prostitution. Is this whole thing legal? If that's the case, why did Craig's list have to shut down it's sex for money section a year or so back? How is that any different? Just the advertising campaign here seems to separate it - maybe if Craig's List had called the ads, Used Virgins for Sale it might have been okay... or maybe I'm simply missing something here.

Actually, she did take the legal considerations under advisement. Further research claims she is planning to "give it up" while flying in an airplane -- the "mile high club" so it's  somehow, not illegal? Just think, you not only get the girl, you get to claim her in an exclusive club -- the Mile High Club. Geez, this story just gets better and better.

Catarina Migliorini2Catarina Migliorini, Playboy

As covered by The Raw Story:

The young woman, who posed nude next to a pink teddy bear in Playboy magazine, opened her own website to hold a second sale of her virginity to the highest bidder.

“I decided to open my own webpage to auction off my virginity and this time it will be for real. So those interested, men or women, can make their bids,” she said.

Well, I have to hand it to Miss Migliorini, she doesn't care who pops her cherry. She doesn't discriminate based on sex. She's an equal opportunity "f**ker. Now my parting comments are this:  I wish this brave entrepreneur all the best -- she keep it safe. And good luck getting the lube past the TSA security.

Massachusetts GOP demands Ed Markey cancel "disgusting" fundraiser with Eliot Spitzer. Double standard much?

FacebookTwitterRedditDiggStumbleUponTumblrLinkedInPinterestEmailShare

double standard

You can't make this stuff up. Via Livewire:

In a statement, Kirsten Hughes, chairman of MassGOP, said that it's "disgusting" that [Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA)] would "rub elbows" with [Eliot] Spitzer, who resigned in 2008 amid a prostitution scandal.

You are judged by the company you keep and it’s disgusting for Congressman Markey to rub elbows with a man best known for his solicitation of prostitutes,” said Kirsten Hughes, MassGOP Chairman.“Instead of lining his campaign coffers with donations from the disgraced Eliot Spitzer, Markey should immediately cancel the fundraiser and denounce Spitzer’s abhorrent and unacceptable behavior.  Anything short of a public condemnation and cancellation would send the wrong message to women everywhere.”

Did anyone on the right "keep company" with Newt Gingrich? How about David Vitter? Oh wait, Reince Priebus gave David Vitter a pass because “that’s a 5-year-old story.”  (Spitzer resigned five years ago.)

Okay then, how about "rubbing elbows" with the "disgusting" John Ensign? And the "abhorrent" Mark Sanford? Wasn't their behavior unacceptable? And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

All of those Republicans claimed they stood for "family values" (Spitzer didn't). All of them are hypocrites. Did they "keep company" with other Republicans? Call me crazy, but I'm guessing they did.

Here's a thought, Kirsten Hughes: If Mark Sanford can assert that if God forgives you, then cheating on your wife and lying to America shouldn’t matter any more, so can Eliot Spitzer.
