California Poll-itics: 59% FOR marriage equality, only 34% against, plus one great VIDEO

I am so happy to share some great news about marriage equality, and it comes from right here in California.

Via Think Progress:

…59 percent of residents backing same-sex marriage and just 34 percent opposing it, a new Field survey finds. This represents “the largest margin of support for the issue in the three-plus decades the Field Poll has been asking the question” and shows a big increase for marriage since voters approved Proposition 8 in 2008. Significantly, support increased among all groups, including Protestants, Catholics, African Americans, Latinos and older Americans…

So if Prop 8 were to be voted on today, it would have a tough time passing.

I put this piece up back in August. It is one of the many reasons I will miss Keith, and it is worth a re-post.
