VIDEO: Still into Chris Christie, Dems? Not so fast.

chris christie enough about me

In my previous post Dems, what are you thinking? Chris Christie? Really??, I asked why Democrats are so blinded by one or two decent moves (motivated by, among other things, ambition) by a nasty conservative, egocentric blowhard that they’d start referring to themselves as “fans” of his.

In another post, one that I strongly suggest you read, Think for yourself. Ask questions. Do your homework, I Link and Link to his disdainful attitude and his not-Democratic political views. This should not be necessary, but apparently, it is.

Let’s not, as a party, contribute to very-Republican Christie’s future success, okay, Dems? Can we at least stop fawning over someone who cares very little about us and very much about himself and his very-Republican career?

To Mr. 73% Approval/62% Dem Approval, from Melissa Harris-Perry:

Let’s hope you do a better job presiding over your state’s storm recovery than you’ve done presiding over New Jersey’s economic recovery… 47th in the nation in 2011. And right now the unemployment rate is 9.6%, surpassing the national rate by almost 2%.”

And so much for your reputation for telling the hard truth or telling the truth at all.”

You even went so far as to veto not once, not twice, but three times a tax increase on millionaires.”

Thanks to you, the women of New Jersey now have six fewer family planning clinics.”

“That’s fewer breast cancer exams, fewer cancer screenings, fewer lives that could be saved with preventive care. So yes, by all means, enjoy your moment, you’ve earned it! But thanks to your policy record, you’ve also earned what’s coming to you in 2016, and I have a feeling America’s voters are gonna give you exactly what you deserve.”

Dems, what are you thinking? Chris Christie? Really??

nono

Someone with a functioning brain please explain what Democrats could possibly be thinking. Via Taegan:

A new Public Policy Polling survey shows New Jersey Gov. Chris Chrisitie (R) is now actually more popular with Democrats nationally than he is with Republicans.

I’m sorry, but …

I refer you to my post of a few days ago, which I strongly suggest you read, Think for yourself. Ask questions. Do your homework. Here’s an excerpt:

Suddenly, because of one moment of justified outrage by this conservative, egocentric blowhard, I’m hearing how Democrats who couldn’t stand the guy are now saying they’re “fans.” That’s the word I’ve heard today, “fans.” And as I wrote in that very post, Chris Christie is indeed charismatic, even entertaining, and of course, blunt. But let’s not forget that he’s still rude, nasty, and this guy: Link. Link.

That Link. Link part? You may want to check those out. Here’s a sample or three from of one of them:

Christie’s Political Views

Health Care: Chris Christie is a strong opponent of the health care reform bill

Education: Christie has been a strong critic of government spending on schools and strong favors the use of school vouchers. ["Dems believe in teacher's unions; we believe in teachers." (Aug 2012)]

Social Issues: On abortion, Christie has described his position as “pro-life, I believe in exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother. That’s my position, take it or leave it.” Christie supports civil unions for same-sex couples, but is opposed to gay marriage.

Yay Chris! Right Dems?

VIDEO: Woman at VP Debate tells Chris Matthews that Pres. Obama is a Communist

“Just study it out.”

I tweeted this out when I saw it live. This woman… this woman… just… I… she…

Never mind, I’ll wait for your reactions. I’m too busy gnashing my teeth and seeing this clip again isn’t helping my blood pressure, either.

Many of us wish Chris Matthews had asked her who “us” is. And a whole lot more.

Ohio newspaper: Don’t support Sherrod Brown’s opponent’s “nasty” race; “ambition untethered to substance.”

The Cleveland Plain Dealer’s editorial board endorsed “good listener and creative lawmaker” Sherrod Brown. While they were at it, they provided a lovely smackdown of his opponent, Josh Mandel:

(CNN) – “Electing his Republican opponent, Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel, would reward one of the nastiest campaigns ever waged in this state,” reads the editorial, published on the Plain Dealer’s website. “It would reward a candidate who hasn’t moved beyond partisan slogans and careful sound bites. It would reward ambition untethered to substance.” [...]

The Plain Dealer cast doubt on Mandel’s bipartisan credentials, writing that he “talks about changing the culture of Washington, but his meteoric rise from Lyndhurst city councilman to state legislator to treasurer to Senate hopeful – as he morphed from relative moderate to hard-line conservative – offers little evidence that he knows how.”

Recent polls show Brown leading Mandel by seven points.

The paper went on to say that nasty little brat Mandel could have put a halt to the onslaught of negative ads had he told “their makers to take their cash elsewhere or publicly decried the ads’ overwhelming negativism.” And who are some of those makers? Why none other than nasty big brat Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS.

Nasty Newt

Newton Leroy makes a good point, for once:

“Why would you want to nominate the guy who lost to the guy who lost to Obama?”

– Newt Gingrich, quoted by Politico, making the case against Mitt Romney by comparing him to Sen. John McCain [via Taegan]

Why indeed? That said, Taegan is also reporting that GOP voters think Newton is running the “nastiest” campaign. Some things never change.
