You go ahead and push that question Luke. What a maroon.
Via Free Beacon.
Luke Russert was asking John Boehner a question at his weekly press conference, but Boehner was preoccupied… with Luke’s feet. Apparently, The Boehner is easily distracted. See, Russert was wearing loafers *gasp!* without socks, which diverted the Speaker’s attention.
Who would have guessed that Boehner was so interested in other men’s feet?
“Nice socks you have on, by the way,” Boehner sarcastically said, who then gave a serious eye roll to Russert’s apology and explanation that “it’s laundry day.”
Well, Luke, being quick on his bare feet, would have none of that and reminded Boehner that, on a Tee Vee show a few years ago, he himself didn’t wear socks. Boehner tried to be even quicker on his socked feet and retorted:
“I didn’t have a tie on. It’s a really simple rule: if you’re wearing a tie, you should be wearing socks.”
Boy howdy, what a comeback! Except for the part where he seems to have forgotten about this:
kxlymike on Jun 30, 2008:
Republican Minority Leader John Boehner talks with Mike Gonzalez OF KXLY 4 about high gas prices. The odd thing is he didn’t have socks on. It still looked good albeit odd.
But he was, in fact, wearing a tie.
Even in moments of levity, Republicans are hypocrites.
Oof. As the article notes, Russert was unfazed.
Rep. Charlie Rangel is in hot water for some shady behavior with his taxes that has gotten him congressional reprimands for ethics violations. Apparently the whole experience has made him a bit crabby
Note: I replaced the video with another one that won’t disappear like the first one apparently did.
