"We Can Kill You Now Or We Can Kill You Later," Rick Perry

Share

NationalGuardLogow263h202

Remember those old Fram auto filter TV ads -- "you can pay me now or you can pay me later?" Well, there's a bit of that philosophy in Gov. Rick Perry's latest goofball thinking.

Today Texas Republican Governor Rick "Oops" Perry is about to make another "Oops." He's going to commit an estimated $12 million a month to send the National Guard to his state's southern border. The question is why? What are they supposed to do? Will they take positions on the borderlines and mow down with their high powered rifles every man, woman and child who approaches the Texas border from Mexico?

The truth is that these immigrants are not sneaking over the border. They're crossing the border and immediately turning themselves in. They're actually seeking out border patrols and surrendering. They're announcing "Here I am. Please take me. Please!"

The unaccompanied kids are the big Republican talking point as they're protected more than the adults who cross into the US without proper documentation. This is thanks to a bill the Republican President, G.W. Bush signed into law in 2008. To be balanced and fair, most Democrats voted for this bill as well.

So should Texas, a state that's refused the Medicare expansion for its own poor yet legal residents, order body bags for the refugee children the National Guard is going to shoot? Of course not, because the Guard is not going to shoot anyone. What they are going to do is become a political charade. They will be armed baby sitters, child wranglers and guardians for the safety and welfare of the poor kids trying to escape death and torture in their own countries. They aren't coming here for holiday. They're flocking to America for safety and for their lives.

Point a gun at a kid who's made the harrowing, dangerous thousand-plus mile journey to America, threatening them that they'll be shot if they cross our border or be shot and killed after a thousand mile journey returning back home and there's no choice. They'll take the executioner's bullet right here and right now. That sure will make an interesting political election poster for Gov. Perry -- piles of dead kids on his border. Maybe he'll even stand in a big game hunter's pose with one leg up, resting it on a pile of dead children. Don't put anything past Tricky Rick.

The Texas boob governor has no plan other than trying to drum up publicity with this stunt. And for what? He's got zero chance at the GOP presidential nomination. And he's not running for re-election.

The answer, to the surprise of few, is ignorance. The governor's ignorance. He simply lacks a comprehensive and humanitarian plan. And instead of helping out the people of his state by accepting Medicare help for constituents, he's robbing them of tight money the Texans really need for more important matters.

Texas leads the nation in uninsured citizens. Medicare would take millions of uninsured and cover them, allowing hospitals to receive much needed funds to stay open. That $12 million per month could greatly raise the living conditions in the state. Perry is robbing his state's coffers of tight cash they need for so many other pressing issues -- for the unemployed, the uninsured, infrastructure, public safety, education, etc.

So Texas is about to burn $12 million a month while Gov. Nero Perry fiddles. Perry has a dream. It's just a dream. It's to move from soon-to-be ex-governor of Texas to larger pastures -- the White House. Well there's about as much chance of that happening as Michelle Bachmann winning a Nobel Prize in science. But while he wastes his state's money on a political fantasy, the good people of the Lone Star State starve and can't afford medical care which could save lives. Instead, in Rick's fantasy world, he's ordering the armed National Guard to his borders to keep kids out.

What's next for this moron? Bear traps, sarin gas and land mines?

It's that time of year when campaign ads are starting to infiltrate and pollute our radio and TV viewing. Candidates sling accusations and innuendos causing more irritable bowel syndrome than the hash at the local greasy spoon. Isn't it time to take a serious look at how these campaign ads are put together and what they really say?

The people over at Represent.Us have done just that. They've chosen a candidate who's so real, so sure to garner a huge amount of votes with his write-in candidacy, that it could just spell disaster for Mitch McConnell.  This man, Gil Fulbright is so honest and sincere you just can't turn away. You will want to watch more than once. So go ahead -- check out Gil Fulbright (not affiliated with the similarly named scholarship), Phil Gulbright, or Phillip Mamouf-Wifarts. No matter what you call him, "Funny" is his middle name.

Romney All In For Another Run To Purchase White House

dollar signs

Six months ago, I posted on The Political Carnival that Mitt Romney was leading in the New Hampshire polls for a 2016 run. And in those six months, nothing has changed. He still leads.

Last week's Suffolk University/Boston Herald poll of New Hampshire Republicans finds Romney to be the overwhelming favorite to be their 2016 GOP presidential nominee, with 24 percent going for Mitt and a mere 9 percent for the second-place finisher, Christie.

On the surface, Mitt is saying no, but in reality, he's pulling out all the stops behind the scenes to make a third go of it, having failed in 2008 to McCain and having bested the GOP crowd in 2012. Romney is actively looking to blunt the fundraising of the other Republicans in consideration, Rand Paul, Rafael Cruz, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie and even Jeb Bush.

It takes huge money to run for POTUS. Romney not only has a lot of it himself, but according to this report from THE HILL:

Here is the dirty little secret of the GOP donor class, i.e. the rich establishment bundlers who funded the recent presidential campaigns of the Bushes, Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) and former Gov. Mitt Romney (Mass.): They are actively trying to recruit Romney to run again in 2016 — and Mitt is indeed interested.

With the Chris Christie Bridge scandals and the lack of support for Jeb Bush, there's nowhere for the Republican party to turn if they want to beat Hillary Clinton. And for once, this is a smart choice for the Republicans. Romney has a ground organization. He's got name recognition. And he's got the bankroll.

How certain can we be that Romney's really going to go full bore?

At least that was the word sweeping through emails and conference calls heading into mid-June's exclusive Romney-sponsored GOP ideas summit out in Utah.

The truth is that the entire Utah event was actually aimed at beginning the process of having Romney again be the candidate of this Establishment Money Machine — only with some severe, but reachable, caveats.

Romney spoke to this summit — and on Sunday morning TV shows — on "how to beat Hillary," without actually saying what many were thinking: "Mitt Romney is the only Republican who could beat her."

GOP Men Spill Democracy Seed, Now Hate Their Bastard Child

Weed

One of the many excuses the Republicans gave for invading Iraq was that we needed to sew the seeds of Democracy. Yes, really, those are their words-- the seeds of Democracy. Forget 911, Saddam's nuclear threat or his weapons of mass destruction. Revisionism history by the current crop of Republicans declares our reasons/goal for invading Iraq was really Gardening 101 -- planting seeds of Democracy.

Where do these seeds of democracy come from? Burpee? Miracle Grow? Henry Jones or Gurney? C'mon, this is America. You get the seeds of Democracy from the GOP. After all, where else can you find something to germinate that comes in its own fertilizer?

Curiously though, what do you do if when the seeds finally take root, the plant springs up through the sand and you don't like the plant you cultivated? You do what you would with any weed. You look for ways to eliminate it. Forget all the plant food (money) and insecticide you wasted (lives) and just plain take out the weed-whacker (the U.S. military) and mow that sh*t down.

Gardening expert and news/comedy show host Jon 'Mr. Green Jeans' Stewart has the full story for us. After listening to him, we're going to need some of that John McCain/Lindsay Graham fertilizer to bring our new crop of Democracy in Iraq to harvest. But if anything has the magic of Miracle Grow, it's John McCain/Lindsay Graham's 90-10 blend: 90% moronic, 10% nuts. They've joined together (which means Mrs. Green Jeans, Kelly Ayotte has linked with them) and figured out what went wrong. It's that stupid farmer, Barack Obama. His Kenyan green thumb is really brown and he's the problem the Iraq Democracy plant crop has gone bad.

Here's the Daily Show 'How To Grow A Healthy Democracy' segment:
