Grieving father of Newtown victim heckled by gun “enthusiasts”

newtown jesse lewis six year old

Nothing says “Freedom! Liberty! Second Amendment rights!” like gun zealots hiding behind their First Amendment right to heckle a grieving parent of a slain child. The father of 6-year-old Newtown shooting victim Jesse Lewis grew up around guns, just by the way.

That appalling Moment of Wretched Vulgarity took place at a legislative hearing on gun safety.

Via CTPost.com:

“The Second Amendment!” was shouted by several gun enthusiasts in the meeting room as Neil Heslin, holding a photo of his 6-year-old son, Jesse Lewis, asked why Bushmaster assault-style weapons are allowed to be sold in the state.

“There are a lot of things that should be changed to prevent what happened,” said Heslin, who grew up using guns and seemed undisturbed by the interruption of his testimony.

The Senate Majority Leader, who is also co-chairman of the Gun Violence Prevention Working Group, threatened to empty the room if there were any further outbursts or audience “chatter.”

The utter disdain and disrespect of gun lowlifes “enthusiasts” like those at the gathering for those whose lives had been devastated by death at the point of a firearm is beyond appalling, to say the least.

They should expect nothing but contempt in return.

Here’s who you dishonored, hecklers. Be proud:

VIDEO: Paul Ryan heckled at Iowa State Fair about killing Medicare, war on middle class

:

Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan gets heckled as he stumps alone in Des Moines, Iowa, at the state fair.

Those hecklers knew lies when the heard them. WaPo:

Are you going to cut Medicare?” one woman screamed from a few yards in front of Ryan.

“Stop the war on the middle class!” yelled an older, bespectacled man.

Ruh-roh, Little Eddie Munster Ryan’s alienating older voters.

Quickie: Jamie Dimon gets heckled

Today’s Quickie:

At a Senate Banking Committee hearing on Capitol Hill, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co. Jamie Dimon got an earful from hecklers.

On the playlist of jeers were the always popular:

“Jamie Dimon’s a crook. This guy should be going to prison.”

And of course, the evergreen “Stop foreclosures now!”

Chase had a $2-billion-plus loss in risky derivatives trades. Unfortunately, the hecklers were removed due to their own risk management issues.

That was today’s Quickie. Was it good for you?

VIDEO- 2009 town hall hecklers redux: David Axelrod press conference sabotaged by Romney supporters

Remember back in 2009 and 2010 when so many town hall meetings were disrupted by tea baggers heckling public officials speaking on health care reform?

on Aug 2, 2009:

Town Hall meeting with HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Senator Arlen Specter at the National Constitution Center in Philly on August 2nd, 2009. Believe it or not, this is well before the crowd got out of hand. Keep an eye out for the lady with the bible.

David Axelrod held a press conference at the Massachusetts Statehouse to draw attention to Willard Romney’s record as governor. Hey, somebody has to. Mitt sure won’t, and for good reason.

2009, meet 2012 (via Sam Stein at HuffPo):

(Video via, who else but the wonderful )

But before he could get started, the event was sabotaged by a group of Romney supporters and aides who jeered, booed and even blew bubbles into the crowd. Shouts of “four more years” were countered with cries of “five more months.” Talk of the president’s accomplishments were met with chants of Solyndra and Cory Booker [...]

Thanks for the bubbles — it was a hell of a lot better than the smoke Mitt Romney blew at us 10 years ago,” said Somerville Mayor Joe Curtatone.

Just as headlines have been monopolized by Donald Trump’s bloviating ignoramusitude instead of the message Mitt wanted out there, Axelrod’s criticisms of Romney’s record in Massachusetts were shoved aside by the heckler story, which is exactly what Team Willard wanted.

Stay tuned for Democratic retaliation, because you just know that’s bound to happen.

VIDEO- Mitt Romney heckled about Cayman Islands, fracking

A worried, and clearly exasperated, woman challenged Mitt Romney about fracking. His reply:

“Don’t get so upset about it, madam. It’s not worth getting angry about!”

Really? Toxic chemicals shot into the earth that are causing major health and environmental problems are of no concern to you?

Silly question. My bad.

“I don’t recall hearing about water being on fire…”

Good god, Willard, what mansion of a rock have you been living under? “Gasland” was even up for an Oscar, you out of touch 1%er! Or maybe you’re just lying… again.

Next:

“Do you think it’s patriotic of you to stash your money away in the Cayman Islands?”

Willard’s response, short version:

Michele Bachmann heckled at Iowa appearance

Michele Bachmann screeched, er, spoke in Iowa City for under thirty minutes, covering the usual:  her support of forced birth, her bigotry regarding same-sex marriage, the national debt, drill baby drill (although she said she also supports wind, solar, biofuels, and natural gas), blahblahblah.

And during that under thirty minutes, she managed to get heckled:

Bachmann was interrupted by the students who held a sign reading, “Homosexuality Desensitization” and shouted questions.

In addition, senior Jenny Watkins, grilled the congresswoman after the speech during the questions and answers portion. The student asked Bachmann about her views on homosexuality and abortion. Bachmann condemned both, according to the Des Moines Register.

“Bachmann condemned both.” And this is why so many of us condemn Bachmann.

“If Sharron Angle thought a forum hosted by Christian groups would provide her with a friendly audience, she was wrong.”

Poor Sharron Angle, she can’t get no respect, no respect at all. Via the Las Vegas Sun:

If Sharron Angle thought a forum hosted by Christian groups would provide her with a friendly audience, she was wrong.

The Republican U.S. Senate candidate got booed, heckled, mocked and interrupted during an hour-long question-and-answer session at Faith Lutheran Jr./Sr. High School in Las Vegas.

And that was the good news. A fist fight broke out when Reid’s supporters started to leave in the middle of an Angle response:

Harry pre-taped his answers to the debate questions (he was in D.C. where Congress was in session), but he still got heckles and hisses… in absentia.

Sharron Angle handled the negativity with her usual skill and  poise:

But Angle looked nervous and flustered by the rowdy crowd. She stumbled on her words and looked down at the stage.

As Angle was leaving, she completely ignored a woman’s question about her mocking maternity coverage and health care for those with autism.

True to form.

It must be difficult to respond to a legitimate question when you are completely in the wrong and realize you’d only embarrass yourself.
