Last Week, Tonight's satirist star John Oliver had done a hilarious satirical exposé on a member of the royal family in Thailand, Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, which was in turn criticized by the militant 'protectors' of said family who of course were immediately championed by a neo-con observer and then pumped and sent to Fvx News to be hysterically broadcast.
Oliver had found starting "a happiness campaign" in a country rather still in the aftermath of a junta or two worthy of a little comedic attention in a previous episode of Last Week, Tonight. But did enjoy commenting on the happy moment when a topless princess joined the Crown Prince and their little doggie in blowing out some birthday candles and then had the extreme reactions to that footage Wikileaked.
Apologies for making you click over to the video of his take on Thailand's devotion to the Lesè Majesté tradition. They have a tendency to overuse the embed padlocks, HBO. Enjoy.
John Oliver was absolutely spot on, how can you not make fun of that?? The hilarious riff when his middle name was exposed was gold.
Another Oliver-Fantastic bit of footage; here it pegs another satirists dream, Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Who, meaning Assad, is responsible for slaying over 100,000 of his people and got the huge bonus boat-floater of the complicity that persuaded an even greater number of his 'electorate' to become refugees.
Some weeks I think we wouldn't be able to function as effective liberals within the Lipton Brigade Years, were it not for Maher, Jon Stewart and Mr. John William Oliver. They go there, and kindly take us with them.
