Not that smart. Via.
Absolute must read, but here’s a taste. Anyone else remember civics class?
They’re the sort of scores that drive high-school history teachers to drink. When NEWSWEEK recently asked 1,000 U.S. citizens to take America’s official citizenship test, 29 percent couldn’t name the vice president. Seventy-three percent couldn’t correctly say why we fought the Cold War. Forty-four percent were unable to define the Bill of Rights. And 6 percent couldn’t even circle Independence Day on a calendar.
I know, I just bitched about all the coverage, but c’mon!!! My dog knows the difference between North and South Korea! She’s a fracking IDIOT. h/t Oliver via TP.
Loving this poke at Former Half-Gov Hypocridiot McDumbPants from Greg Sargent’s Roundup:
Takedown of the day, from David Frum, on Sarah Palin’s Tweet asking whether the leaking of excerpts of her new book might be illegal:
To which the answer is: actually, no it’s not. And the fact that Sarah Palin believes it might be is reason number 5,417 why she should be allowed nowhere near the police power of the United States.
Oh, suh-nap!
Really, you have to wonder about the level of intelligence in the country these days. I love Fact Check.
Q: Does an illegal immigrant in Florida get $1,500 a month for each of her eight children?
A: No. Illegal immigrants don’t qualify for welfare or food stamps. A chain e-mail from a “disabled Vietnam vet” is full of misinformation.
