Newt Gingrich's private ventures are going bankrupt

Those diamonds don't pay for themselves people! What are they going to do now?

(Reuters) - ATLANTA - When he entered the race for the Republican presidential nomination in May 2011, Newt Gingrich was the prosperous head of a small empire commonly known as Newt Inc, which included both for-profit consultancies and nonprofit foundations.

Altogether, these entwined ventures pulled in more than $110 million over the past decade. Now the vestiges of this empire are mired in debt, as is Gingrich's campaign fund.

A bankruptcy proceeding under way in Atlanta will determine whether the one company still owned by Callista Gingrich, Gingrich Productions, will lose an expected payout that now constitutes the bulk of the Gingriches' net worth.

The bankrupt corporation is the Center for Health Transformation, whose revenues came from the hefty dues paid by corporations for assistance in formulating and promoting certain healthcare policies.

In your DREAMS, Newt

Newton Leroy Gingrich was asked who he'd like to see playing the lead in a movie about his life.

His answer? No, not any of these actors. No, no, he went straight to-- wait for it-- Brad Pitt.

No, I'm not kidding.

It must be the strong resemblance, right? Why, one might even mistake them for twins.

If one were sight challenged.

Via Politico:

"No, I don’t look like him at all,” said Gingrich. “He's thinner, he's better looking, he's younger. But you asked me if I had anyone who could play me in a movie, why not go for Brad Pitt? Look if you’re gonna go for it … You gotta relax and just, you know, let your imagination soar.”

Nice try, Newton. And who would play your wives, starting with Callista?

VIDEO: Could a Black or Democratic president have an open marriage too?

Thom Hartmann. 'Nuff said.

Eleanor Clift, Newsweek & Tim Cavanaugh, Columnist-Reason Magazine Marianne Gingrich is now talking about her ex-husband Newt in an interview airing on ABC tonight. And word on the street is that Newt wanting an "open marriage" is just one of many explosive revelations set to come out in tonight's interview, in which his ex-wife says he lacks the character to be President. What does it say about our society - and our press - that if a Black man like Obama had done the same he would have had no chance whatsoever to run for high office?

Fox psychiatrist: Newt Gingrich's serial cheating makes America stronger

Unfortunately, there's more where this came from, but here are excerpts from the most obnoxious, twisted rationalization imaginable by someone who calls himself a psychiatrist. Apparently, he took the Hypocritical Oath by mistake.

Then again, Dr. Keith Ablow is a Fox contributor, and that operation is in desperate need of psychiatric help.

Via the Fox doctor [sic]:

I want to tell you what Mr. Gingrich’s behavior could mean for the country, not for the future of his current marriage. So, here’s what one interested in making America stronger can reasonably conclude—psychologically—from Mr. Gingrich’s behavior during his three marriages:

1) Three women have met Mr. Gingrich and been so moved by his emotional energy and intellect that they decided they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with him.

2) Two of these women felt this way even though Mr. Gingrich was already married.

3 ) One of them felt this way even though Mr. Gingrich was already married for the second time, was not exactly her equal in the looks department and had a wife (Marianne) who wanted to make his life without her as painful as possible.

Conclusion: When three women want to sign on for life with a man who is now running for president, I worry more about whether we’ll be clamoring for a third Gingrich term, not whether we’ll want to let him go after one.

Three women were unfathomably devoted to a slimy philanderer, including two who were "the other woman" themselves, and Ablow sees their disturbing dependence and self-destructive behavior as a good thing.

Yeah, that analysis makes sense. Newton Leroy is just the guy who can strengthen this country, because the remedy for all of America's ills is a pig man who can't stay zipped, has a nasty, condescending demeanor, is completely untrustworthy, treats women like objects, is an insensitive lout, and don't even get me started on his political views or why any woman in her right mind would want to get intimate with such a bloated, self-serving, egotistical grease ball.

But this is who Ablow thinks deserves our respect, admiration, and votes.

Painful, isn't it? Methinks the shrink needs a shrink.

VIDEO: Marianne Gingrich FULL Interview on ABC News Nightline

Brought to you by none other than the Ron Paul 2012 YouTube Channel:

How nice that the party of so-called "family values" is so forgiving of a serial cheater when it suits them. IOKIYAR*.

She said she was disappointed to be told of Gingrich's angry denial on Thursday's night's CNN debate.

"If he had really changed, he could have stepped up and said he was sorry. He never has," she said in a phone interview.

So the talking points are, hey, at least he told her he wanted an open marriage! He's the victim here! What a prince! Except for the fact that he was cheating on her prior to that noble gesture... while she was ill... as he did with her to his first wife. We should be throwing confetti, not judging the poor dear.

And seriously, he's the victim? Of what, a thorough vetting? Note to voters: He's running for President of the United States.

And the other excuse is, come on, drop it already, this is ancient history! So there's a statute of limitations on being able to assess the (lack of) character and (lack of) ethics of a presidential candidate? Someone please remind all those self-righteous Republicans who continue to condemn Bill Clinton that they're hypocrites.

That said, Newton Leroy would make a splendid opponent for President Obama. By all means, primary voters, cast your ballots for this puffed up, womanizing sleazebag, make our day.

*It's okay if you're a Republican.

AUDIO: "Dumbarse" Sarah Palin says ex-Mrs. Gingrich's "open marriage" interview helps Newt

Via Think Progress:

But Palin, who calls herself a feminist, completely ignores the substance of Gingrich’s actions to portray him as a victim of just another tawdry lamestream media smear.

So the "politics of personal destruction" is worse than the actual destruction of a marriage, of  dignity, character, and trust. Got it. Keep spouting those "family values" GOP.

And speaking of "dumbarses", for as long as anyone can remember, the name-calling, failed vice-presidential candidate hasn't hesitated to use politics of personal destruction on a regular basis.

Although you'd never know it from this Moment of Mellow:
