VIDEO: Ted Haggard makes a cameo in low-budget Christian "sex comedy"

Need a good laugh? Start watching at about 1:00:

Via YouTuber :

The Waiting Game is about a guy who saves himself for marriage only to have his fiance leave him on their wedding day. He must now decide if it's worth it to wait again.

This demo trailer was produced to give an idea of what the story might look like.

Our target budget is $2M. Will be directed by Arthur Anderson. Candace Cameron Bure as one of the actors.

They need to raise two million smackeroos. Good luck with that. Via TPM:

Rich Praytor, one of the producers, acknowledged the similarities between The Waiting Game and Virgin. "I love all the Judd Apatow movies -- '40 Year Old Virgin,' 'Knocked Up,' 'Superbad' -- they're all great," he told the Colarado Springs Gazette. "So we wanted to take something like that into the Christian arena."

"They're just starving for anything comedy," Emilio Martinez, another writer/producer, said.

Silly Emilio, for a hefty dose of comedy, all they have to do is observe their own and read their own quotes.

You may remember Candace Cameron, Kirk's sister, from Full House.

You may also remember Ted Haggard from his hypocritical preaching, rants, and scandalous, meth-infused sexual liasons with a gay male (former) escort and masseur back in '06. He ended up resigning as president of the National Association of Evangelicals and took an administrative leave from his position as senior pastor of New Life Church. Mike Jones said this when he exposed their affair: "It made me angry that here’s someone preaching against gay marriage and going behind the scenes having gay sex."

And now he's in front of the camera in a Christian sex comedy. Redemption!

Scarborough, Matthews Headline Comedy Festival

Contemplate that headline.

The third annual Nantucket Comedy Festival is on this week, and tonight is media night. MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and Chris Matthews are taking part, as is Fortune managing editor Andy Serwer, who makes appearances on CNN now and again. The night is dubbed: "The Daily Steaming Hot Cup of Hardball Show."

VIDEO: World Net Daily's Very Unfunny Comedian

I used to be part of a comedy duo back when. We performed at all the major clubs, did a little TV, and rubbed shoulders with just about every comedian in L.A.

I learned a lot about comedy doing that, a whole lot. Of course, I've devoted my entire adult life to comedy. I've performed it, written and directed it (for some pretty amazing performers, some of them even famous), and taught it.

With a career like that under my belt, I feel I have some standing to opine on what is funny and what isn't. This isn't.

At all:

Someone tell me, please, where are the laughs? I've looked high and low (mostly low), yet, somehow, have failed to find them. I guess I'll look again later, if I have the stomach for it.

Nah, never mind.

As "Molotov Mitchell" herself said, "Too late!"
