Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania Mayor Jay Schiliro is in– How did Dick Cheney put it again? Oh yeah– “deep doo-doo.”

The party of “family values” strikes again. Via the Delaware County Daily Times:

Arrested last week on charges he abused his position to imprison a 20-year-old Trainer man during a drunken, gun-wielding encounter at his home in February, Marcus Hook Mayor James “Jay” Schiliro has dropped his bid for re-election. But he said Wednesday he plans to finish out his term as mayor. [...]

Authorities allege that late on the evening of Feb. 21, Schiliro contacted the young man by text message and had a police officer deliver him to his borough home. There… the mayor allegedly gave the young man alcohol and produced three firearms, one of which was fired into papers inside the house. During the encounter, the mayor repeatedly asked the young man if he could give him oral sex, according to court documents.

He’s being charged with “official oppression, recklessly endangering another person, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and providing alcohol to a minor,” all misdemeanors.

Did I mention that Mayor Jay’s 13-year-old daughter was asleep upstairs?

He’s out on $50,000 bail, as long as he stays away from firearms and of course, any contact with the 20-year-old man whom he plied with drink and with whom he really, really wanted to engage in oral sex. Allegedly.

He once filed an ethics complaint against a Democrat, which is ironic. You know what else is ironic? He’s a member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns. I wonder what he thinks about marriage equality.

And here’s one more nugget that just boggles the sane mind:

While caucus meetings are not typically well-attended, Manerchia said there was a standing-room-only crowd, with attendance split between those in support of the mayor staying on and those in favor of his immediate resignation.

“I’d say it was 50-50,” Manerchia said.

Of course, conservatives are making a big deal out of this because of his affiliation to Mayors Against Illegal Guns. One blogger put it this way: Leftist Hypocrite on Guns Arrested for Having Gun.

As has been reported everywhere, the “leftist” is clearly a Republican. Nice try.
