Whoa doggies, that’s some concentrated crazy right there. Looks like Elizabeth Flock from US News & World Report put on her hazmat suit and traipsed into the muck for us.

Here are some of the strangest:

  • “We gotta put some salsa sauce on the Republican party.” – Sam Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, calling for more Latino outreach by the Republican party. He also encouraged delegates to “just reach out and grab that brown hand.”

    Multiracial Hands Making a Circle

  • “Immigrants are more fertile.” – former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, making the case for immigration reform
    • “College campuses are indoctrination camps for the abortion industry.” – Kate Obenshein, vice president of Young America’s Foundation, in a panel on advancing the pro-life movement. She also called Planned Parenthood “barbarians.”
      • “We are at a tipping point the likes of which we have never seen in civilization.” – Rep. Mark Sanford, R-S.C., on government spending.

        cloning

      • “[Allen West] is a real American … We should really take something from his gene pool and put it everywhere across this great country.” – actor and conservative speaker John Ratzenberger, best known as “Cliff” from the TV show “Cheers,” introducing West to the convention crowd.
        • “We lost because Obama won crushing, lopsided majorities among Americans who are single, poor, irreligious … There are people who are all three.” – Michael Medved, conservative radio talk show host, on why Republicans lost the 2012 presidential election.

Why would they have someone who holds no office, matter of fact was summarily dismissed from office, on their shows? Who cares what his TeaBagger opinion is? Obviously not the people of South Florida! Via.

Congratulations to Rep Elect Murphy and his hard working crews. I’m guessing we’ll be seeing Fox Senior Analyst Allen West here soon.

Florida Rep. Allen West — the tea party pugilist and face of the class of House Republicans that stormed to power two years ago — conceded Tuesday to 29-year-old construction executive Patrick Murphy in one of the nation’s highest-profile congressional races.

After two weeks of battle with St. Lucie County elections officials — and a recount of early votes that wound up extending Murphy’s lead — West acknowledged that he couldn’t surmount his 1,904-vote, or 0.58 percent, deficit. That difference was just outside the 0.5 percent threshold to automatically trigger a recount of all votes.

        (snip)

“For two weeks since Election Day, we have been working to ensure every vote is counted accurately and fairly. We have made progress towards that goal, thanks to the dedication of our supporters and their unrelenting efforts to protect the integrity of the democratic process,” West said in a statement to POLITICO. “While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election.”

West congratulated Murphy, saying, “I pray he will serve his constituents with honor and integrity, and put the interests of our nation before his own.”

Dear Allen West: Please STFU and go away. Love, Laffy

That was as polite as I could be.

        Via TC Palm:

Results of recounting more than 37,000 St. Lucie County ballots were announced shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday and preliminary figures given by Canvassing Board member Tod Mowery placed Jupiter Democrat Patrick Murphy farther ahead of Republican Allen West than before the two-day effort began.

Murphy’s lead was still outside the 0.5 percent difference that would require a recount. The unofficial final count was 65,841 votes for Murphy and 52,704 for West.

“We are still evaluating how to handle this,” West campaign manager Tim Edson said.

        Ahem.

As Murphy campaign senior adviser Eric Johnson put it, “This election is over.”
