Former House Republican leader and current pinhead Eric Cantor took umbrage today over Laura Ingraham's comment that he should have been one of the hostages traded for Sgt. Bergdahl instead of the five Gitmo detainees.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) on Sunday responded to a comment conservative pundit Laura Ingraham made that Cantor should have been traded to the Taliban for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
"I will say that the suggestion that I should have been traded to the Taliban for Sergeant Bergdahl really is not a serious contribution to any public policy debate, and frankly, I don't think that it reflects on the people that self-identify as Tea Partiers. I think they reject that kind of notion," Cantor said on ABC's "This Week." "And it's just not serious. And frankly it cheapens the debate."
Where was Cantor's ire when Tea Party stalwart Senator Rand Paul earlier made a similar statement only about Democrats, reported on the CNN(Certainly Not News) Network:
“Mr. President, you love to trade people. Why don’t we set up a trade? But this time, instead of five Taliban, how about five Democrats? I’m thinking John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi; couldn’t we send them to Mexico?”
The truth is, Eric Cantor, you're just a self-serving obstructionist and that's why people voted you out. It had nothing to do with Laura Ingraham nor immigration reform. It wasn't your religion and it wasn't the Tea Party. And it certainly had very little to do with the man who beat you. Your defeat was your own doing. You were greatly responsible for a do-less-than-nothing congress, and that's why your ass was booted out the door.
What you were victim of was your deaf ears to the cry for the heads of the overpriced Republicans who have turned their backs on women, minorities, immigrants, long-term unemployed, clean air advocates, environmental protectionists, health care for all, and affordable education reformers who may just decide to show up to vote this coming November. (That is if you haven't already restricted their voting rights) By November you will have been forgotten. But your legacy won't have been. You set the example that removing an asshat can be done. And we voters may elect to send a number of your asshat friends packing with you.
