Not a fan of Paul Ryan? Then you might want to share this post. Rob Zerban (
@robzerban) is trying to unseat him. Again. And if anyone needs to get the boot, it's Paul Ryan. Unfortunately, Zerban lost to Willard M. Romney's running mate back in 2012, but America knows more about Ryan now, and Zerban will take advantage of that.
We need to support him in any way we can to turn that previous loss into a sure win.
"For a long time (voters) had this image of (Ryan) as this nice guy from next door and they didn't pay attention to his partisan votes in D.C. And he'd come back in the district and talk a very moderate game. But he's been anything but," Zerban said. "And I think a lot of the people in the 1st District have started to see his true colors."
Let's hope he's right. Especially considering the Ryan Budget. Remember that?
[Zerban] recalled his single mother qualifying for food stamps but being too embarrassed to use them at a grocery store where people might know her... He said the experience of running his own start-up and hiring 45 employees gave him economic insight that Ryan, a career politician, lacks... "It bothers me that he has this label as an economic wonk," Zerban said. "... I'd like to get him on a stage and pick him apart."
We'd like that too, Rob.
FYI, the Ryan Budget would slash SNAP (food stamp) funding by $135 billion over ten years. We need Rob Zerban in Congress, badly.
