Wake up Mayor Bloomberg.
First, you backed a bad program, stop and frisk. It’s unconstitutional implementation got slammed back in your face. Your practice got you reprimanded because it was racist in essence.
When the court determined it wrong, what did you do? You became a little, sissy baby. You went crying to anyone who would listen and showed your childish temperament. You’re rich-boy attitude really demonstrates the divide between you and reality.
You became spoiled when you fooled New York into breaking its rules and allowed you a third term. Now you want to change the rules again – this time using city money to sue your city council in an attempt to bully them into renewing a discriminatory and arbitrary program.
(NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg sued the City Council on Tuesday in a bid to overturn a law aimed at curbing the police department's use of its controversial stop-and-frisk policy.
The council's votes came less than two weeks after a federal judge ruled that the department's stop-and-frisk policy, under which officers stop people in high-crime areas they suspect of engaging in criminal activity, is unconstitutional because it targets minorities disproportionately.
Maybe you should come down off your high and mighty perch, sitting atop all of your billions. Maybe you should see how real people live, how “f’d” up their lives are even without your interference. Maybe if you cared a bit more for humans than for your cash, you’d prove you have our backs.
Mr. Mayor, if you want to know what it’s like to be one of your constituents, you can either walk a mile in their shoes, or listen carefully to those who have no choice, or no shoes at all.
Listen to Chris Beasley, who sharply puts it all into poetry and images – something you should see and hear. We all should.
Then you can tell us how racial profiling is good for New York and good for America. I dare you.
