"After answering these questions, can you doubt [#Trayvon - #Zimmerman] confrontation & shooting were race-related?"

Today's Los Angeles Times letter to the editor, because our voices matter:

Re "Verdict not a surprise to some," July 15

I have two questions.

First, if a white teenager had been arrested for burglary in Zimmerman's community, would he have suspected another white teenager of being up to no good?

Second, had the roles been reversed — if Martin, a black teenager, had shot Zimmerman under similar circumstances — would the shooter have been jailed immediately?

After answering these questions, can you doubt that this confrontation and shooting were race-related?

I finally listened to the Tuesday show. It was outstanding. It still takes my breath away when I think about leaving the trial in the hands of those jurors and how they judged the evidence. And I am still leaving out the lead prosecutor who substituted "punks" for "coons". Let alone, how so much of the media just wants this to go away.

  • That's what Nicole asked, at least on Tuesday when I was on. She played that clip over and over again.

Okay, okay. I will admit it. I have been listening to Radio or Not! I just finished the Monday show of Nicole Sandlers show. My question is this, why did the lawyers for the state chose to focus on who was screaming for help, rather than the "fucking coon" comment George Zimmerman made during his first 311 call?

Nancy Grace was right to ask the question on her show. I just wished she had played the actual audio.
ps. Nicole really does have a fucking great show 🙂 I would love to see Randi Rhodes fill in for her some time 🙂
