Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) threatened after introducing gun legislation: "They said they were going to kill me."

This is what happens if you dare, DARE, to introduce legislation that would require gun owners to have liability insurance.

The Hill:

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) says she received death threats about gun legislation introduced last week.

"They said they were going to kill me," Maloney said, according to the New York Daily News.

She is still moving forward with the bill.

So the "good guys with guns" are defending their oh-so-important Second Amendment rights by threatening the life of a lawmaker who thinks insuring gun owners would be a good idea. And they think she's the one intruding on their rights? What about her right to live, to feel secure, to not have to look over her shoulder every time she sets foot outside?

[S]he skipped a dinner event that night.

"I couldn't go," Maloney said. "Who knows what could happen?"

Wow, she sounds really scary. The obvious solution is to kill her. Check.

But calling these loons "gun nuts" offends them. Seriously?

Irony and hypocrisy are alive and well in gun nut land.

  • Their addiction to guns is a result of their insecurity. They think being armed will make them right or make people pay attention. Instead, they become more visible as mentally unstable. Example: Armed thugs attempt to take over Press Club Function just this week. We need to call the FBI immediately if armed men show up at any function, or polling place to intimidate their fellow citizens. The 2nd Amendment was not written for this purpose and states "well regulated militia" which means you can't show up at a press function armed because you disagree with the point of view. It proves that your argument is weak or nonexistent, and you care not about the rights of others.
