John McCain via CBS:

"We look forward to interrogating him at his hearing next week, mercilessly..."

"We will bring back, for the only time, waterboarding to get the truth out of him."

The above lame attempt at wit (or in his case, half wit) by John McCain occurred during a press conference on Syria. He was referring to his conversation with Sen. John Kerry regarding his confirmation hearing next week. Of course, McCain was a prisoner of war who has experienced torture, so he's sure to get a pass on this particular brand of what passes for humor.

I'm sure BushCo is in stitches. Who writes his material, Dick Cheney?

Added: Let's not forget this previous episode of McCain's sidesplitting hijinx:

I think senility has taken hold.  Time to go back to Arizona and talk to chairs.

Like a majority of modern Senators, he has stayed too long at the fair.

As an Independent living in Arizona, I used to like John McCain. That turned into  tolerating him.  But now, he is completely embarrassing.  Senator McCain, sir, please retire.
