On The Melissa Harris-Perry Show, Melissa and her guest Michael Eric Dyson made some excellent points.

Dyson:

"We're 'surprised' it happened here... which means by implication, it's supposed to happen there... That's the tragedy here."

"There's a lack of cultural empathy... You know, 'he was a troubled child.' Ain't no 'troubled children' named Jamal or Chaniqua, it seems to be. So we don't have that kind of empathy to understand what they're dealing with."
