Jokes about food stamps are so Gingrichian, aren't they? ClusterFox pundidiot Andrea Tantaros was yammering about Newark Mayor Cory Booker's challenge to live on food stamps for at least week in order to "grow in compassion and understanding" and dispel stereotypes when she blurted this out:
"I should try it because, do you know how fabulous I'd look. I'd be so skinny. I mean, the camera adds ten pounds, it really does. I’d be looking great."
Because that's what matters, right Andrea? I'm sure food stamp recipients can relate, because one thing they think about-- as they try to feed their starving kids and do everything in their power to, you know, eat-- is how many pounds they can drop so they can look svelte on the off chance they end up on Fox.
Despite the difficulty in subsisting on food stamps, the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), which was formerly known as food stamps, helped keep millions of families out of poverty in 2011.
Ms. Tantaros, thank you for caring and for making the hungry feel so special. Happy Thanksgiving. Now go stuff yourself.
