VIDEO- President Obama Speaks on Growing our Economy and Reducing our Deficit

President Obama's First Speech after Re-Elected - statement on tax rates and resolving the fiscal cliff crisis, delivered from the East Room of the White House, Nov. 9, 2012.

"And let me make one final point that every American needs to hear right now. If Congress fails to come to an agreement on an overall deficit-reduction package by the end of the year, everybody's taxes will automatically go up on January 1st -- everybody's -- including the 98 percent of Americans who make less than $250,000 a year.

And that makes no sense. It would be bad for the economy and would hit families that are already struggling to make ends meet."

"Now, I've got the pen. Ready to sign the bill right away. I'm ready to do it. I'm ready to do it."

So let's get to work.

Good to hear Obama speaking with newly found /confirmed power and truth.

I disagree with him on giving more support to automobiles and their use
There are way too many automobiles on this planet and they make our daily lives miserable with the  constant NOISE,toxic FUMES and STRESS.
Governments have spent TRILLIONS supporting this product for decades and yet at what cost?
Loss of lives, injuries, habitats built to serve the automobile.
Yes, electric vehicles will be less stressful but our direction should be making the auto industry and all those other companies associated with the use of them chip in to pay for that use.
It is not just roads, bridges, lts, etc it is also emergency response, hospitals, police, street cleaning, paved green spaces, loss of good land, etc.
We must move to innovative public transit as so many other countries are doing.
Driving has become the most selfish ignorant thing we do.
Making pedestrians share passageways with vehicles was just plain DUMB design.
All that exhaust going straight into our little one's faces and lungs.
    Seniors,nervous to cross streets.
The automobile brought out the worst in us: impatience, first attitudes.
Th average American spends over $9700 on maintenance for 1 automobile for 1 year.
If half the drivers quit driving for 1 year and that money was pooled it is over 2 TRILLION$$
That could buy some innovative transit .
    Wakeup and smell the exhaust!
