Oh what a difference a few weeks makes. RNC chairman Reince Priebus has learned something brand new from flip-flop expert Willard M. Romney: The art of Etch A Sketching.
Why, it seems like only last month that Reince was none too thrilled with Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO), who is running against “un-ladylike” Claire McCaskill for a seat in the U.S. Senate. After Todd's rather, erm, unusual remarks about women's magic uteri that can prevent pregnancies from "legitimate rape," Republicans were running from him faster than Paul Ryan in a marathon.
That was then. This is now.
Reince Priebus, August 2012:
"...We’re not gonna send him a penny."
Asked directly if he considered Akin to be a better option for Missouri voters than McCaskill, Priebus did not hesitate.
“Well, absolutely,” he said in the interview. “That’s a given, and as chairman of the party, I have an obligation to make sure we win as many seats in the Senate as possible.”
