Portman admits to Norah’s first question  that he was misinformed didn’t know the facts and the timetable. After a couple of efforts, lightly, to straighten him out she backed off. Who at CBS called her off and why? She had the facts on her side. Disgraceful. Sorry Norah was not heroic.

Nora needed to keep on Portman, confronting him with the facts and the timeline — not let him go on for ad nauseum with untruths.   Romney shot off his mouth way too early.  It’s okay for him to expose his ignorance later, along with his foreign policy, but damn it, he made a comment from hours earlier look like it was a White House apology for the attacks after they had happened.  Nail him on it.  She tried, but ultimately she let him keep going instead of stopping him, correcting him or not letting him speak.  Remember, if you bring these guys on and you know they are lying, you’re propagating the lie by showing it.  If Portman doesn’t like being shown up, don’t put him on.  Let’s see how long he can go as a spokesperson if no one will talk to him and broadcast him.  The news organizations control what and who we hear from.  They need to be responsible when they knowingly allow the lies to be broadcast.  Nora’s attempts were not successful in clarifying the situation as it really happened.  DG

Politics are politics, but the Romney-Ryan campaign is just buttloads of cash, endless evasions, and flat-out LIES! Don’t vote for THAT…
