Earlier I posted a quote from Chris Matthews: “I got the feeling in Tampa that it was a business convention.” He was on fire today, and when he's good, he's really good:

In Tampa, "they had to prove they were human!... It's an amazing standard that we set, that that is the first goal in life, is to prove you're one of our species!"

"He stopped telling birther jokes. He got better. HA!"

"They tried to deny people the right to vote.... the first goal. ... Then they try to scare people to go to even bother to vote 'cause it's too complicated... They discourage black voting and encourage white anger... Preventing black people from voting: That's the goal... It's factual. It sadly is."

"For them to criticize the Democrats after leaving this country in hell, and then to come back and to claim it isn't heaven, is insane."

"... How could you not say we're better off? I don't see what's so complicated about this."

"They don't know the easiest political questions! How are they going to know the answers?"

One more thing: The Newsroom is the best show of the past two decades bar none.  I have loved every episode and can't wait for more.

I wonder if Chris Matthews, watching his son play a minor role in the HBO series, The Newsroom, realized, "Hey, I'm in the news media too.  Maybe I ought to start telling the truth and exposing the utter deceptive cynicism of the Republicans."  Hmmm....Life imitates art?  But of course!
