GottaLaff, you rock!!  I’m having a good laugh right now!  After I posted this to my FB page, I wrote that Romney is lying to the people of SC, and that I hate lying.  One of my FB “friends” is a former student who lives in SC.  He didn’t like hearing the truth, so he responded  with: “If you don’t like liars, then you don’t like Obama.”  I got under his skin.  He couldn’t respond to the facts, so as a right-winger, he decided to create a false equivalency.  PBO is very conscientious about getting things right.  This doesn’t mean that he never makes mistakes, but when it comes to a willingness to tell Americans the truth, PBO doesn’t duck, dodge, and lie like Romney, and my former student knows it.  If he could have refuted the facts, he would have, but he didn’t, and he couldn’t.  He didn’t listen when I told him and my other students to think for themselves.  Most of my FB friends are former colleagues and students who identify themselves as “conservative.”  I’m using my FB page to try to wake them from the stupor of lies that the GOP has them trapped in.  Whenever I get a response like the one I just received from my former student, it delights me because it means I just may have caused them to think harder than they’re used to thinking.  I never respond to their comments since I’m not interested in a engaging in a debate with them, only in sharing facts that encourage them to think.  Thanks, GottaLaff!
