Here are the 17 Dems who sold out to the NRA and voted to hold A.G. Holder in contempt

David Horsey / Los Angeles Times (June 21, 2012)

As expected, the NRA got its money's worth. Seventeen Democrats joined House Republicans in a meaningless exercise that will go nowhere.

Here is how they voted, including these 17 Democratic sellouts:

Altmire, Barrow, Boren, Boswell, Chandler, Critz, Donnelly (IN), Hochul, KindKissellMathesonMcIntyre, OwensPetersonRahallRoss (AR), Walz (MN)

Here's the real scandal.

The House today approved a resolution holding Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. in criminal contempt of Congress, the first time a sitting Cabinet member has been held in contempt.

Republicans pushed through the resolution because Holder has not turned over documents related to a botched gun-tracking operation known as Fast and Furious. A number of Democrats boycotted the vote.

A separate vote will be held to hold the attorney general in civil contempt.

I am joining my fellow Democratic colleagues and members of the Congressional Black Caucus in walking out on this hyper-political contempt vote. This is a shameful act by the House GOP.

POLITICO Breaking News

White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer attacked the congressional vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt as "political theater rather than legitimate congressional oversight." Pfeiffer said of Thursday afternoon's 255-67 vote that "a politically motivated agenda prevailed and instead of engaging with the president in efforts to create jobs and grow the economy, today we saw the House of Representatives perform a transparently political stunt."

Whoops, no you didn't, my bad.  He's still a weasel...

You missed Smilin' Jim Matheson of Utah (D-weasel) who also voted for contempt.  Matheson is a blue dog wimp from way back; he always cringed whenever Karl Rove made a frowny face at him.  His constant support of everything the GOP does has cost him so much support in Utah that he's going to lose his seat this time; to a novice tea tantrum type, but still, everyone in this state will be glad to see him go.

  • Well -- in between the High Court striking down 3 out of 4  Arizona Illegal Immigration Bill Provisions on Monday, and upholding the Healthcare Act today, it's been a bad week in Wingnuttistan.

The Holder Contempt vote allows them to regain a little face.

  • I sent Ron Kind and Tim Walz my hard-earned money.  I am PISSED!
