Happy New Year Paddy!  Be glad it was only Jeff’s finger that is now “much shorter”:)  

My neighbor, who’s husband lost a finger a few years ago (right index), messes with him by occasionally tossing things, like a penny, on the floor where he has to struggle with it to get it up.  For some reason, he never manages to think first and use his other hand;-)  Seriously.  You can’t make up this level of silliness.  ”Here, let me give you a hand…you don’t quite have two.”  

Tell him I hope he heals well – it sounds like he is, and that’s the best there is!!!!

Paddy-best wishes for more peace in your lives and speedy healing for Jeff. I recommend collecting “digital” jokes. A friend started doing this when her hubby cut his finger off.
