The other day in the post We need to look out for each other. I meant what I said in that headline, and it’s something many in this country have forgotten how to do (I’m talking to you, GOP).
Please read this message from our dear pal Jurassicpork– who is also featured in our “Cool Thing Referrals” post with his American Zen by Robert Crawford– and if possible, help him out a little. We really do need to take care of our friends as best we can:
My regular readers know very well about our trials and tribulations, ones shared by millions. But on top of an infuriating inability to find a job despite our skill sets, we’ve been undergoing the frightening prospect of eviction that’s almost always a month or less away.
Then, while speaking to someone who’s trying to get me a job, Mrs. JP got the news her mother is ailing. She left her family behind in Vero Beach, FL to be with me now it’s time to send her back home for a week so she can see her 81 y/o mother.
Laffy gave me the opportunity to do this because weeks before last night’s bad news came, I’d already made an appeal at P’ville for funds and many of you had come through.
But round trip air fare would set us back a month on the rent and we’re ending up almost where we’d started out during this latest ordeal. If you’re on Facebook, Twitter or any other social networking site, we’d tremendously appreciate it if you could spread the word. For anyone who does this or can chip into my Paypal account, I’ll even throw in two free copies via file attachment my two novels currently on Kindle, if you wish.
Thank you for your attention, and for your compassion.
