As Paddy posted, the teen tweeter who expressed an opinion about Kansas Gov. Brownback's suckitude wouldn’t apologize, and for good reason. As you may recall, Brownback’s office saw her tweet, and she was called into the principal’s office and unconstitutionally ordered to apologize. Yes, she should have been called in... to be congratulated for knowing enough about Brownback to make such a comment, and for understanding her rights.
But guess who's avoiding detention now by issuing a badly needed apology? Nope, not Emma Sullivan. Via CJOnline (The Topeka Capital-Journal):
Gov. Sam Brownback issued a statement Monday apologizing for his office's reaction to a Kansas high school senior's disparaging tweet about the Republican after a visit to the Statehouse. [...]
"My staff over-reacted to this tweet and for that I apologize," Brownback said. "Freedom of speech is among our most treasured freedoms."
How nice of him to notice. Good to know he's become aware of the U.S. Constitution.
