The door is ajar:

(CNN) – For now Vice President Joe Biden is focused on the president's reelection effort, but come 2016 he may be whistling a different tune. [...]

"I'll make up my mind on that later," Biden said in an interview set to air Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union." "I'm in one of the, probably the best shape I've been in in my life … I'm doing pretty well. I'm enjoying what I'm doing, and as long as I do, I'm going to continue to do it.... And we'll find out, you know, let's get the president reelected."

All due respect, Joe, and I luv ya, but . . .

You'll be pushing 74 around that time . . . remember all the jokes and comments that were heaped upon McCain for his age back in 2008?   They'll be revisited on you.

Instead, let's give Joe an ambassadorship, or a Supreme Court post; something that befits his elder statesman status.

Better to let one of the several ex-governors that are already serving in the cabinet {Vilsack, Sebelius, Napolitano} take the reins in '16 . . . being ex-gov's, they already have the executive office expertise; time in the cabinet will give them the national exposure/federal level  experience.
