“I don’t know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians.”

– Rep. Michele Bachmann, quoted by the St. Petersburg Times, suggesting the recent earthquake and hurricane were messages from God.

Hmmmm, God sure is doing a lot of micromanaging in Michele’s little world. Via Taegan.

Imagine that! Why would God try to warn a nation that is heading over a cliff? Do you think maybe God really does love us and doesn’t want to see us destroy ourselves? The earthquake created minimal damage and the hurricane weakened. Both could have been much, much worse.  The message Jesus still has for today is, “Change your minds and conduct and believe the Good News!”

Does she actually think these natural disasters are for the benefit of politicians? Because I think they are messages to everyone, on the order of “Humanity, get your shit together!” Of course, I’m not from the 11th Century like Mrs. Bachmann…
