“Where’s his sense of urgency?”

Of course she didn’t ask, “Where is the GOP’s sense… period?”

My thought almost exactly! Don’t ask the same assholes that broke things to fix what they broke!

Also ……………. be careful about “picketing”. Depending on where you live that could get out of control quickly ;^)

There is no need for the President to keep Congress in session. They do nothing but obstruct anyway. Let them have an earful from their constituents. People need to be picketing the streets they live on and asking why they are so anti-middle class. They need to be DNA tested to insure they are human and not aliens.

My belief is that President Obama is going to take the time needed to speak to America about what just happened in the deficit and debt ceiling debacle. He is going to begin to communicate the 2012 policy issues that will win back the House and glut the Senate with even more democrats.

He will strike while the irons hot and when he returns to DC he will begin the work on jobs, jobs, jobs with the strength of America behind him.

I’d much rather watch the Congressional members get an earful from their constituents for the next 4 weeks.  They don’t seem to hear them in DC…at least not while arguing and standing in front of every camera pointed their way.

That’s another point altogether. I just felt her question was very apropos: why as the country burns around us, and the President claims our “imminent problems are solvable” with Congressional action, are members of Congress on a month long recess?

Now, you seem to be one of those who would rather have the folks with an 18% approval rating stay out of Washington than come back and work. Completely understandable

Had Obama not been in direct negotiations with the GOP-baggers throughout this mess he could possibly call on congress to try and solve it. That’s no longer possible. Calling congress back into session would be less effective than calling ghost busters!

  • KansasDem

Please, I want to answer that question!

Because the tea-baggers are out of touch with reality and the entire GOP is nothing but an obstructionist piece of shit!

    Next question please ;^)

WOW! who needs Helen, we have Norah O’Donnell. she really showed restrain, and persistency . loved that piece. too bad Barack is a great tactician I really wanted him to take a short cut.

He’s not immune. I agree, tough questions are a good thing.

I support Obama, but I think it is a valid question she asked. I like having a press that asks tough questions…it strengthen’s our country.

Now, it’s true she (and the rest of the media) should ask this question of the members themselves, but why is Obama immune from the question?

He might have been smart to urge Congress to get back to work.
