John Cornyn: America is about taking money from the poor, giving it to the rich

Google GmailFacebookTwitterLinkedInStumbleUponRedditFarkDiggTumblrBlogger PostDeliciousFriendFeedNewsVineGoogle BookmarksGoogle ReaderMultiplyPosterousEmailBookmark/FavoritesWordPressShare

John Cornyn was tweeting back to my Twitter buddy POTUS, and oops, showed his true colors:

And there you have it, the GOP in a nutshell… and a quote for Obama to use in his presidential campaign.

Added: Keith Olbermann tweeted me, saying he believes this doesn’t seem to say what I seem to think it says.  POTUS then tweeted that he had an extended conversation with Sen. Cornyn since this exchange, including asking him 3 times to clarify–he declined.

My response, in case you wondered, was that my expectations of the worst from Republicans often leads me to negative conclusions and interpretations.

Breaking News- Moammar Gadhafi’s son, Saif al Arab Gadhafi, was killed in a NATO airstrike, a spokesman for Libya’s government said Sunday

More as I find it.

A Nato air strike in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, has killed the son of the Libyan leader, Colonel Gaddafi, a government spokesman has said.

Colonel Gaddafi himself was in the large residential villa which was hit by the strike, the spokesman added, but he was unharmed.

His son Saif al-Arab was killed, as well as three of his grandsons.

(snip)

“The attack resulted in the matyrdom of brother Saif al-Arab Gaddafi, 29 years old, and three of the leader’s grandchildren,” he said.

“The leader with his wife was there in the house with other friends and relatives, the leader himself is in good health, he wasn’t harmed.”

“This was a direct operation to assassinate the leader of this country,” the spokesman added.

Poor Sar, no ones’ paying any attention to her so she has to ramp up the crazy to compete with Trump. Easily debunked, as Politifact did here. Is is me, or is she looking more sour than usual? Via MM.

Moment of Happy: Medicare edition

Google GmailFacebookTwitterLinkedInStumbleUponRedditFarkDiggTumblrBlogger PostDeliciousFriendFeedNewsVineGoogle BookmarksGoogle ReaderMultiplyPosterousEmailBookmark/FavoritesWordPressShare

Today’s Moment of Happy comes from a headline at The Hill:

GOP remains united so far on Medicare proposals in budget

Why does that make me happy? Because most Americans want increased federal spending for Medicare. Hence, a potential loser for the GOP.

Education, Social Security, and Medicaid are nothing to sneeze at either.

Moment of Happy #2:

“Goverment”, “yore”, “of”. This sign has it all.

PhotOh! CNN’s priorities Trump real news

Google GmailFacebookTwitterLinkedInStumbleUponRedditFarkDiggTumblrBlogger PostDeliciousFriendFeedNewsVineGoogle BookmarksGoogle ReaderMultiplyPosterousEmailBookmark/FavoritesWordPressShare

Earlier today I posted my usual Saturday rant about media coverage, specifically “news” dee jays, specifically CNN’s “news” dee jay.

As I’ve noted in previous posts, I haven’t exactly been enamored of the contents of the CNN Political Ticker website‘s left sidebar either, something that I’ve been tracking for weeks. Here’s a screen grab of what they have up today:

So while lamenting Trump’s asshatitude, they continue to push his stories.

For those keeping score, out of six stories, four of them are about Trump, and none are about Democrats.
