This is horrible news. Wishing her the best:

Via CBS, this occurred during the celebration at Tahrir Square on February 11th:

In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.

Unspeakable. Thankfully, people who cared were brave enough to be there for her.  Nobody should have to go through that, but at least she made it out alive.  Sending all good thoughts.

This is an tragic happening, but to my mind CBS has made it worse by making an collegue put through what is sometimes awful, public ridicule. That is salt in the wound. Who will ever be able to watch one of her news reports and not think of that, at least in the short -term.
