ABC News Drops Andrew Breitbart from Midterm Coverage

Via TV Newser:

Dear Mr. Breitbart,

We have spent the past several days trying to make clear to you your limited role as a participant in our digital town hall to be streamed on and Facebook. The post on your blog last Friday created a widespread impression that you would be analyzing the election on ABC News. We made it as clear as possible as quickly as possible that you had been invited along with numerous others to participate in our digital town hall. Instead of clarifying your role, you posted a blog on Sunday evening in which you continued to claim a bigger role in our coverage. As we are still unable to agree on your role, we feel it best for you not to participate.

UPDATE: H/t: Greg Sargent and to Oliver Willis for the tweet

And good riddance to that lying, racist scumbag Breitbart. He got what he deserved... almost.

UPDATE: TPM makes a great point.

Nice the way you threw the obligatory "racist" in there. Can you back that up?

  • Marnie

Since Breitbart just released an edited tape, which based on the O'Keefe editing, probably gives a totally false impression: ABC would be foolish to let him attach his name to their news product until the entire tape is released and available to both ABC and the public.

Breitbart opened the door for ABC to escape and to their credit the ran through it like a rabid dog was after them.

Re TPM brief: Why admit fault when you don't have to? This way, ABC makes it all about control of the format, and doesn't have to cop to their misjudgement of the (glaring) issues with Breitbart's quality & integrity.

  • LOL. I guess they heard our phone calls, eh? WOOT!

    Shorter Andrew Morse: F*ck off, you lying, whining b*tch . . .
