Okay, okay, Christine O'Donnell's dad is only a PART-TIME Bozo

In a previous post, I made an egregious error! I quoted a New York Times article that said Christine O'Donnell's dad had a gig as Bozo the Clown.

I hang my head in shame. That was only partially true:

Daniel O'Donnell was an occasional understudy Bozo, not a full-time holder of the Bozo mantle. From their phone conversation: "Who told you I was Bozo?" he wanted to know.

"Your son," I said, at which point he confirmed that yes, he was Bozo, but not an official, full-time certified Bozo, more of a part-time Bozo. [...]

Mr. O'Donnell said... "I was the fill-in Bozo."

What can I say? The guy was only a part-time clown. His daughter, on the other hand...

This is funny little anecdote, though probably will go away in about 3 days (hence it being an anecdote). When I was a kid we adored Bozo the clown. So not sure exactly how her Dad having this role should be seen a bad thing.

Are you trying to equate Christine O'Donnell's dad's profession with her current politics? It does make for a nice little clown pun (we could use more of those), though based on everything she has actually said and done I'm not sure if bringing her Dad into the fray is truly necessary. If you want to knock her down just put up a posting of her recent "I'm You" video. If someone votes for her even after seeing that video then there truly is a clown joke here somewhere.

Surprising. I would have guessed Pennywise.
