In addition to all the other things that are wrong with these folks, is the assumption that all babies are adoptable.
They aren't.
In general only perfect white babies are in demand.
Of the girls I knew in college who took their pregnancies to term because you had to have money and you had to go to Mexico and risk your life to get an abortion, – one had a child with a hole in the wall of its heart. No agency would put the child up for adoption.
So what was a part time minimum wage college student, who's parent told to at age 16 that they had done their part and she was on her own, going to do with a new born who was going to die unless it got expensive surgery that she could not possibly afford?

Her educational future was going to be destroyed, the baby was going to be doomed. That is the Republican prescription for unwanted pregnancies.
Basically, to hell with them both, they are on their own.

( The Travis County health center helped find a hospital that would help and UT Medical Center in Galveston did the surgery for free/ Voila, a perfect white baby was adopted. But there are lots of women who are not fortunate to find that kind of help.)
