Angle allegedly shuns Hispanic media. Reid: “I don’t know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican”

One of my Twitter pals, billiegirltoo, has a post up about Sharron Angle’s latest rubber room antics:

[T]he editor of Spanish language newspaper El Tiempo says in 30 years, he’s never experienced such a shutout as his team is getting from Angle’s campaign.

We never receive information, press releases, information on the place for talking with the community. Nothing,” said Editor in Chief Hernando Amaya.

The article ends with this:

The Angle campaign held an event on Monday. 8 News NOW and Hispanic media outlets were not invited.

Are we surprised? No, we are not. At least I’m not. Then again, nothing about Sharron Angle surprises me.

If she gets elected, if this is the direction America is going, then we have a real problem. Actually, we already do have a real problem, so let me reword that: It would be tragic. She’s disgraceful. She has no business running for office, because she’s a wackydoodle extremist who is about as unAmerican as you can get.

So here we have Angle, who runs from the press on a regular basis (literally), apparently taking her disdain for the media an ugly step further and targeting Hispanic media outlets.

Outraged yet?

Billie updated with this:

U.S. Sen. Harry Reid on Tuesday slammed Republicans for blocking comprehensive immigration reform and told Hispanics they shouldn’t be treated differently because “their skin’s a tone darker” than that of America’s early European immigrants.

I don’t know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican, OK,” Reid said, speaking to Latino supporters whose votes he needs to win re-election in November. “Do I need to say more?” [...]

Reid said he didn’t understand how anyone could be both Hispanic and a Republican, a comment sure to upset prominent GOP leaders and politicians with that heritage.

Anyone but Angle.

Not just every ethnic group David G. mentions, but I'll really never understand the Log Cabin Republicans. Really? You wanna be part of a party that considers you less than human? Seriously?

  • David G.

Harry is a hundred percent right. The Republican party wants nothing to do with Latins, Asian, muslims… only their white male brothers in corrupt arms. Why should any woman, Latin, Asian or Muslim be part of a party that systimatically excludes them and their interests. So “Here, Here, Harry Reid.” I don't ofter agree with his tactics, but this time what he says is so right on. DG

Funny how Harry Reid's comments will upset prominent Hispanic Republicans, but Angle's antics easily swim under the radar of the same set of Republicans…

Harry Reid just said what we all have been saying. I'm glad he said it. He needs to be blunt.
